So here's what we have wired up in the engine bay. Basically the Protege fuse block has a white square connector on the top of the fuse block (FB-01 in the P5 diagram). We tapped into that for the signals and power for the disty, injectors and alternator from the KL wiring harness. In theory...

So here's how it stands. The starter works and the fuel pump works. But I'm not getting spark and I don't think the injectors are working.

Here's how it's wired up currently;

Distry; Large clip on is R/B -----------------\
Disty; small clip is B/W ----------------------|------ Battery +
Fuel Inj; wires to both clips are (W/R)-----/

So basically everything should have direct power.

And the KL alternator is wired up like this;

KL alternator: ~~~~~~~~~ P5 fuse block (FB-01)
Y/R ----------------------------- LG/R
W/B and W/G ----------------- LG/W (pin 53 to the P5 ECU)
B/GY --------------------------- W/L (pin 30 to the P5 ECU)

I got a 95' distributor from Jon when I bought the harness, ECU and O2 sensors. I was hoping I just had a bad disty but I'm still not getting any spark. Sean (bullshark) sent me a link about the HEI mod a lot of the PGT guys do so I'm going to research that tonight and give that a try. Should cost about $50 or so.

I'm going to go through more wiring after work. If I can't figure it out this week I'll just pull a "Rusty" and set the garage on fire.

Evan, Sorry man I believe I may have forgot one crucial wiring item. I will be checking after work today. It just popped into my head this morning looking at the diagram above. I believe it had something to do with the fuel pump relay wire for the v6 ecu. If its how I think it is on my car, it is likely the ecu is not giving signals to the injectors, as for no spark, if the disty has power then you should get spark regardless of the ecu wiring.

Justin, thanks very much for looking into it, mate. I owe all you guys BEEG TIME!

As far as the disty goes, I'm baffled. I'll triple check the wiring again after work. I was getting like 10.8 volts to the disty and fuel injector clips with a wire Pablo and I ran from the fuse block and 12.4volts from my battery. I'll double check again after work. Not having a car for a month farking blows chunks fo sho. Thankfully my co-worker has been giving me a ride from work and my GF gives me a ride to work. Or else I'd be screwed. heh-heh.

no offense wes but do you think a guy with as much OCD as evan could ever but a car like your miata... i dont ever see that happening haha

ok evan what i did was give power to the wire for the fuel pump relay that goes to the ecu. After comparing diagrams your diagrams are very similar to the 93-94 ATX wiring for the MX6/626 which I am not sure if that will work for you. Also, for the disty have you checked for 5v pulse coming from the pcm to disty?

Yeah, but her driving skills are frightening. heh-heh.

Justin, are you saying the way I currently have the fuel pump wired might not work? The fuel pump is always running in the ignition "ON" position like yours. It seems like my injectors aren't firing though.

And I just hooked up my knock sensor. I've got a one wire knock sensor on the motor and simply removed the wiring from the JDM harness I have that came with the motor then spliced it into the Milly harness in the cabin. It has the shielding from it grounded on one end, but not the other end by the knock sensor clip. Weird.

And I might need to find a crank position sensor in order to get spark according to a few posts in my PT.com thread. I'm 90% sure my motor didn't have a sensor but looking at the Protege harness, the sensors have the same clips so I asked Josh if I could steal his old one to see if it would fit. If not, Wes and I are going to Pull-a-Part wednesday and I'll **** one of the KL's there.

I don't do anything fast, Rob. I'm slow. My car is slow. My brain is slow. :(

Hell it probably took me an hour to swap the disty yesterday. I'm surprised Phens dad didn't slap me and say "Hurry up already!". heh-heh.
