Phen, I'll just have my co-worker pick me up and and drop me off for work then. No big deal. It's your car, mang.

Me too. I want to start driving the Civic to work so that I don't have to fill up every 3 days. Hahaha.

Save some gas by drafting, like this:

Well, 28 hours into the swap we've succeeded in removing the FS, and installing 1 of 4 coilovers...

aaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!! there is so much rust!!! im glad i dont have rust on my protege that would just kiilll me and make me wanna give up...

Well most of the rust is because it was raining when I pulled it into the garage. Like the rotors are all new. It looks a lot worse than it is. Wes has his camera settings on "full rust". ;)

subbing to this for sure. I want to see how you make out with the POR15 in the engine bay, I have it under the car and in the wheel wells but never though of the engine bay. Your Ohio rust looks real similar to my Canada rust..

Yeah, I think I'm going to Por-15 the rust and potential rust spots in the bay, then paint the whole bay flat black. I dont think the silver colour Por-15 paint will match my engine bay very well and will look patchy/ghetto. Then I'm going to spray bed liner in the wheels wells to seal out any more potential rust spots. Stupid Ohio/Canadian rust ruining our beloved P5's... heh-heh

It just sucks it's been cold and rainy here in Ohio, not the best weather for paint. Plus I'm sick with a cold. FML.

i did the bedliner in the wheel wells after the POR15 as well as some spots under the car worked great, flat black will look great in your engine bay

Hope you feel better soon Evan and I hear ya on taking your time. I was just wondering if you had a date in mind on when you wanted to have her done. As for the gas...how much better is the Civic than the Bavaria? Phen took me for a ride in it the last time I came out, quite fun and I bet even better now with the tranny bracket welded.

Sadly, I'm beyond the POR-15. Have a hole just starting on the strut tower in the bay and I fear that if I start sanding the quarter panel down there will be no metal underneath to paint. lol

Instead of flat, why not satin black for the bay? (2thumbs)

I think you should use an enamel paint. Something that will lay down thick. That way it would be a little bit tougher to scratch the paint.

Jeff, I'd like to get the engine bay painted and Por-15'ed this weekend (after helping Josh with his swap), get the wiring harnesses routed and ready to go in the bay. Then when my crew gets back from the Mitty, drop the KL in next week/weekend. Then I can at least get it back on the road so I can have my car back again. I'm sure there will be a lot of bugs to fix though. And I gotta bride Josh to weld up my midpipe to my Corksport and find a resonator to replace the Magnaflow cat. Just a bunch of little stuff, but I'm certainly trying to remain busy. I don't want it just sitting in the garage for weeks and weeks. I miss my car already. The Civic honestly doesn't seem to get very good gas milage. I mean, I only work 10mins up the street and I've already used 1/2 a tank of fuel. She must be running really rich.

Cres, good call on the enamel. I'll check out what they have at Autozone tonight after the GF gets off work so we can take her car. What colour do you guys think I should go with? Flat, Satin or Gloss black? Or just silver?

I would go with a satin black. I dunno if you ever saw signature sound's engine bay but he did a flat/satin black on his 22V and it looks amazing.
