We had a meet up at the Lehigh Valley Grand Prix in Allentown, PA this past weekend, 45 mph go karts! I was too broke (bad weekend in Atlantic City) to race, so I decided to take some pictures instead... clearly I need some practice on motion photography, but I tried, check em out!

looks like a fun time! We had a similar track in NE, I was counting down the days until I turned 18 and could race on it, then a couple months before my birthday it closed down because of a bad accident. No one was killed or anything, but I guess after that insurance was too high for the owner.

On another note, for the photography buffs, what settings would he have to mess with so the go-karts wouldn't come out blurry like that?

ahhh ive been waiting to see these...looks like u had a good ride home too lol

Nice...hey Flash5 when did you get the wheels? I like how the red lip breaks up the black on black.

it was a fun time, cant wait till next time.

I still hate my fount bumper, so many dings. gotta be someway to make them not as noticeable.

Holy large photos! We have one of those that NEPOC meets attend. www.f1boston.com

sorry, i shrunk them to 50% of the original. They looked sorta normal on my computer.

for the photobuffs - I had my camera in the sport setting for the majority of the gokarting shots yet they came out blurry still, any advice to get rid of that?

i put them on about 2 weeks ago, i still want to add a bit more red, but not that much more, that and drop it in the future since im in 4x4 mode right now haha

Use a faster shutter speed. You can always up the ISO and lower the f-stop to compensate for the faster shutter speed. Look in your camera's manual to see how to adjust those settings.

BAAAHH!! Don't just bump up the shutter speed! Yes it will freeze the karts in the photo but it will also get rid all sense of speed. Try panning to follow the karts so the karts are in focus but the back ground is blurred. Look at gr?'s photos for an example.

yeah thats what i was thinking, cuz I was stationary it was focusing all on the stationary things, if I followed my target they wouldve come out better I think. Although bumping the shutter speed might not hurt either, especially since it was rather low light
