led turn signals

Some websites recommend a pair of load resistors for LED turn signal lights. Will it work or burn out faster if I don't get load resistors?

generally, LED replacement bulbs make the turn signals blink REALLY fast. the load resistors make the flasher think that a regular bulb is installed, and they blink normal.
