LED light strip for the fogs

Hello all. I have the I-model sedan without fogs, and I was thinking that instead of spending the money for true fogs, I would just get a LED strip, line it along the fog housing, and wire it to the headlights. I don't know much about this. Would this work? If so, where is a good place where I can get some decent LED strips.

There is a nice write up in the "how to" section, but it was for a Speed3. It should still be the same basic idea.

it can be done, but I don't think it's bright enough to light the road, but for people to see yes, LED's disperse the light to much but focal is good, where Halogens are opposite.

If you're interested, we sell a product called SMD strip lights.

It is a waterproof, cuttable, thin strip of very bright SMD bulbs. They would be roughly the brightness of the Audi or VW running lights in the bumper or headlights.

I don't currently have it on my website as I am revamping the entire website, but if you're interested, send me a PM and I can get a price, as well as some more pictures for you.

The price is $44.95 per meter, and I used a full meter under the hood.

On my car I don't have a hood pin switch, so it is wired into my parking lights at the moment, but I plan on picking up a hood pin switch and wiring it up properly in the future.

Install took about 15 minutes....peeled the backing off, stuck it onto the cleaned hood, wired it in, and done.
