leaking water pump

Hey guys, is there a link or write-up showing how to replace a water pump? I've got an `02 Protege LX 2.0L...

I`ve got 105000kms, and just had it replaced last year when it had 90000km. Starting to leak again, and figured might as well try fixing it myself...

Thanks!

It's not too difficult. I'm writing this from memory so may not be complete.

First, remove the outer serpentine belt (PS/AC). Take the pinch nut off of the power steering adjuster so that the only thing attaching the P/S pump to the motor is the long top bolt where it pivots. The bracket underneath the P/S pump is bolted to the water pump and it's just easier for it to all come out together. Next, loosen the 4 bolts (10mm) on the water pump pulley. If you take off the water pump's belt it will be tough to break those 4 bolts loose without the pulley turning. Once the bolts are loose you can remove the inner belt (water pump/alternator). Now you can fully remove the water pump pulley. All that's left is to take out the bolts holding the water pump in place. Take out the pump and reverse the process. Don't forget to bolt the P/S adjuster bracket back to the new water pump and put in the new gasket.
