larger fuel pump

:
03.5 msp titanium
So i just managed to drop my fuel tank and get my stock pump assembly out,.. trying to get my new pump in and upon installing the final flip to keep pump in housing, clip wouldnt go on.. the new pump almost looks identical.. but of course there are some small differences after you look at them side-by-side

the new pump is slightly longer so cant secure it with original clip unless modified i guess

also, noticed the original pump has an almost open discharge hole while new one has a pin-valve looking type end (might even be open but cant tell).. anyone know solution? seen same s***? pretty sure its the warlbro 255lph,

need pics? can post

If it is a walbro 255lph pump search the forum. Probably in the how to section. U have to modify the white clip.

Cut the 4 prongs off of the walbro pump. Also dont reuse the rubber spacer that is used on the stock pump. This should let the clip secure around the holder with the walbro in place. DO NOT CUT THE CLIP. TRUST ME. I cut it to fit my Deatschwerks....worst idea ever. Helped a friend install his walbro and cutting the prongs off worked perfectly. Cutting the clip lets the fuel pump pop out from time to time, and after pulling it out roughy 7-8 times, I finally "fixed" it

word, also cut the top of the white clip just enough to let the filter-head connection recessed in the clip

was thinking about that but didnt see a real good spot to put it around, got all 4 clips on so im fairly confident in it.

did you see the middle prong in the outlet of the pump? did it look off to you or anything? on second inspection there may have been passage, but ive installed it and crossing my fingers

When I did mine I had to modify the top of the clip,I've seen on various forums this having to be done.....I have the deatschwerks 265 and it does not need this modification and flows better
