The place I went to did an EXCELLENT job. I removed everything I could before taking it in so it would cut some cost on my part. Everything I removed I left at home and didn't get painted (ie. sides, lip, wing, and grille). Being a small island, word gets around, and I heard this shop is pricey but does a great job.
Things removed by me:
- Side skirts
- Wing
- Lip
- Door sills
- Rear view mirrors
- Door panels
- Trunk panels
- Rear seats
- Emblems
- Grille
It was expensive ($4k+), but I had a ton of body work:
- Re-clear the hood
- Re-clear my mirror covers
- 10+ dings on the driver side and passenger side
- Roof damage
- Heavy rear fender damage
- Rear passenger door damage (covered by insurance)
- All doors where the moldings were removed needed work
- Passenger side clear coat was peeling (from previous body work)
- Door handles repainted
So yes, the entire car was repainted and detailed after (interior and exterior). Exterior was waxed and polished, even when it was STORMING outside!
The did a good job masking off areas, I can't tell where they taped up.
