kwirks

I have been reading up on the MS3 and have been finding some rather unsettling things about them. Things like a Torque Limiter in first and second gear, and a mazda-programmed powerband dropoff in the high RPM's. Do you really notice these things, and do they bother you? are there any other kwirks about the MS3?

It's a amazing car, even being boost limited in 1st and 2nd and you make peak hp power @6000rpm, it's a highway *****!!! All those things can be taken care of with a tune.

are there people out there who have pre-made tunes for the MS3 already?

just test drive one man. i got a cold air intake and my powerband is a little higher now.

You do notice the computer limiting the power in 1st and 2nd, but you still get a lot of power down, 3rd gear is where full boost hits and you just HAUL.
I get way better launches with DCS and TCS disabled though.

You better hope there is torque limiting in 1st and 2nd! Otherwise you just light 'm up at WOT. Power drop off at high RPM's? Well, yes, you have peaked your 263hp and 280tq, so why not shift? I shift on the track at 5500-6000 rpm and love the way it pulls because rpms drop right to the sweet part of the torque range in the next gear. Very nicely engineered and you have a nice "safety" zone on up to 6700 rpm. If you have the need to rev your ricer to 9000 rpm, you dont' want the MS3, but wooeee, are you going to miss that kick in the butt everytime you shift this 6 stage rocket!!
