Hey -

Just got my yellows in the mail... where exactly do you stop turning? Is there a point where no matter how much more you turn them to adjust damping it won't get any stiffer? The instructions say 180/360/720.

it's based on turns not on clicks....if your refereing to the rear you have to compress it competely then adjust..

Wow, what a pain in the ass that was. It wasn't terribly difficult, but making sure both rears had the same rebound was a pain. I don't want to EVER have to take them out again unless I'm running a track day. The fronts on full hard barely rebounded AT ALL. That was surprising. Currently, I have the rears at 1 turn (360) and the fronts at 1/2 a turn (180). I'd love some advice if you think that'll be too stiff. I want it to considerably firm the suspension, not make it bone-jarring.

well if you do 360 on the rear that should be set up on full stiff.. front you can change easily, just have to worry about the back...

I feel like there was a bit left on the rears. Will it stop as the full soft did? I didn't hit that.

Hey - did you notice that the rebound was un-even out of the box? I was compressing them completely and seeing how fast it'd take both to rebound with the exact amount of turns.

well I know some have mentioned that they try to match them up the best they can, but personally when I get my next set I'm just going to have them set at full soft for both and call it a day...now the link below is how yours should be on full firm. If it's not then you still have a ways to go.

I spoke to Koni about this matter and they said 1/2 turn 180 on both would be good enough for DD cuz that would be close to stock, but "it's hard to say, since everyone has they're perception and feel on whats right". use your best judgement/guess.

I did mine two turns and I still felt like I could stiffen them up more. If you have them at full soft its super comfortable, but I personally felt handling wasnt that great, felt sloppy. Great for a DD though.

I can't stand how soft the stock suspension is. Especially when I get on the power. Firming everything up will only improve my confidence in the car and how it handles.

well remember if your running H&R springs they will improve overall feel of the suspension, as for me I'm going to go full soft just for the fact that I have a 7 month old and I really don't care all that much about handling as I wouldn't be driving it like that 95% of the time, but just want a bit more comfort for him but still look goooood!!

Good part is I've used Koni's before and I know even on full soft it will still be better then stock cuz of their valving.

I just bought Koni sport shocks.
While adjusting the rears, I noticed that they are significantly different in stiffness.
I ended up counting the time it takes form them to rebound after I fully compressed them with my arm.
Shock 1: Full Soft: 2.5 seconds, Full Stiff: 3.5 seconds
Shock 2: Full Soft: 7.9 seconds, Full Stiff: over 180 seconds (I stopped counting after 3 minutes)

As you can see, they are significantly different. Shock number at Full Stiff feels much softer then Shock number 2 at full soft.

Is this something that will be corrected as they get some mileage on the car (i.e. break-in period)? Or I should just have them exchanged since they are simply bad?

The fronts were perfect match right out of the box. So, I'm really confused as to why the rears are like that.

at 7.9 secs + sounds like its adjusted to almost full stiff...might want to check that again after reset.

Shock #2, took 7.9secs to rebound at full soft, and over 3 minutes at full stiff. I did this more the once.
Like I said, both new rear shocks are acting totally differently.

Shock #1 at full stiff is softer then Shock #2 at Full Soft. I just can't get my head around why, and sureley don't feel like I should install those shocks on my car.
Any folks here with a similar experience?

have you tried calling the techs at Koni? I had the same issue but mine wasn't as bad...then again who knows what they will be like once they "break in"? I've never had any problems with KONI before so I just set both of mine at full soft and called it a day...didn't bother to check if they are the same or not.

btw did you compress them COMPLETELY before trying to adjust them, sometime they are a bit of a pain to get it to where they are suppose to be...cuz from the sounds of what your saying it seems like they aren't engaged properly when you tried to adjust them. just my 2 cents.

Yeah, that is kind of a pain. lol I'm excited to get mine installed. When I adjusted them, I didn't count the turns. Just wanted to make sure they rebounded in the same time.
