Keeping the Si???

how much do these "schools" run? or are they part of your membership?

In our area, they are separate from any kind of membership or subscription. Locally we have levels 1-3 and occassionally an Evolution Driving School will come to the area. The Level 1 and 2 schools are each 1 full day and are around $100, the Level 3 costs a little more and the Evo school is a lot more.

I'll definitely have to hit one of these up. Pretty sure that driving is going to be the weak link here.

I'll sum up this whole thread for you: When I get my ass handed to me in AutoX this year, it probably won't be my car's fault.

I think our novice school is only opened to SCCA members (as it's put on locally by the ATL SCCA region), and I believe they're $50. I've been out of town for both so far, fortunately I should be in town for the next one :D

Hey andrew, when you get some info on that class, let me know. i'd deffinatly want to do that once before getting into autox this year

Why not start running before the class, that way you have some experience to actually apply what you learned to.

i agree, you should run teh car a couple times before the class so when youre shown something it will make more sense to you I promise

(bang) People, read!! I'm planning on doing very well, personally, with me driving the car. I think that the car is a very competitive one within its class.

All I know about is AutoX, when I show up they're going to have to hand me a blindfold and tell me to keep it in reverse.

So, to sum up, Tinman is coming, HS had better watch out! I've alerted your competition by email. They're scared, but trying to put on a brave face. ;)

Welcome to GACC. We don't reed sew gud.

"Ol' Blue is anxious to mow down some cones!"
"...I'm going to make sure I know how to drive properly before I jump in too far over my head."
"Oh well, I'll probably be more concerned with keeping the cones upright for a while."
"Like I said, I'm probably going to be having enough trouble keeping it between the cones. Tinman = n00b."

For all I know about AutoX, when I show up they're going to hand me a blindfold and tell me to keep it in reverse.

Oooh, that'd be fun! :p

I think it has more to do with the limited attention span *coughADDcough* of the GACC rather than the reading skills...

When we take over a thread with meaningless babble and gay innuendo, would that be thread-GACCing?

OK, so if anyone remembers the comment I made about my girlfriend wearing the pants... (shrug)

The Civic is back up for sale.

Just doesn't make a lot of sense at the moment to keep it. In a few months when I'm in a new house, and a better financial position to have a second car, I may regret it, but for now it just isn't gonna work. We may have to see the MS6 out on the autoX course a few times this season.

i guess thats not too bad it will be nice to see how the MS6 does out there i know it was pretty good at zoom zoom live for being bone stock...could use some stiffer suspension though. And good luck with the Si should sell pretty quick around this area its a great car

Thanks. The only reason I'm not necessarily excited about taking the MS6 out on the track is because the stock tires are $200 each (I've already had to replace one). (thought) Maybe I can work something out with the GF to get a set of autoX wheels with some Azenis RT615s out of this deal. :D

thats the biggest reason why stock tires suck....you can find something just as good if not better for a cheaper price than jsut buying a name...i assume the MS6 comes with All season bridgestones?

No, they're summer-only Bridgestones. Potenza RE050A. They're not bad tires, just EXPENSIVE.

So... you are not married right?

Ummm...no. We just moved down here together and have a joint checking account. Plus, she makes a lot more than I do, so she pretty much makes the calls as far as finances go. I pretty much wouldn't be able to afford two cars without her and live in the style to which I'm accustomed, so...

We could do it, but it'd be a little dicey for a few months here, while we're making two mortgage payments, paying rent, and looking for a new house. Long story short, I've gotta take one for the team.

You know what? That just means that there's a better autocross car in your future...why stress yourself out financially by keeping the Si, when you can sell it and relieve yourself from some of that? You can always buy another car once you get the housing stuff all figured out. AND you can run the MS6 at the autocrosses... :D
