I just install 8000K HID lights on my baby yesterday. I'll post up the pix soon when I get them. :)

Make sure you aim them right, I put mine on and then figured out the aim was way off. I paid 460 for mine on ebay.

I got them at Ebay. So just keep on checking them in there. I got them for 480 w/super white fog. I didn't look at how to aim them, but my friend did that for me. I think he use a 8mm wrench and just adjust some nuts, but I'll check.

Hi i have the Hanabi HID conversion kit. The K2 is just a plug in one right? no Hard wiring. Those kits are good but if any one wants the really good ones then get the Hanabi. They have to be wired in and they cost 410. Buddy you got ripped if you paid 480 for yours. My friend has K2s in his Gulf and he paid 400 and he still thinks my are better then his. thats my 2 cents.

i know my lights are not the "Real thing" but look at the pix. I ain't bitching about it. It's better than those 80 dollars blub that pop every 2 months. If mine can blind mooses at night, it's kewl with me =) And yeah, maybe i did pay alot for them....but i seen other kits that cost well over 800 bucks. The Hanabi are cheaper than mines, but I don't see any big differences.

The K2 8000K Kits are the real thing, mine will smoke the headlights of a lexus or mercedes anyday. They are not some cheap version, they use the true phillips/hella ballasts and bulbs, according to most web pages they are the best available, along with the Mc whatever brand. Just my .02

was the K2 HID kit easy to install? any major (or even minor) modifications needed? or is it as simple as wiring it up and plug and play?

they are very easy to install. they are designed to be swappable with the bulbs. there are no splices to be made, no cutting of wires, it is basically a plug and play kit. (I removed the white wiring harnesses for better looks) it took me a total of about 30 minutes at most to install them and aim them. there are no mods to the headlight housing if you ever have to put back in original bulbs. just unplug the hids and put the bulbs back in. Simple. the only difficult thing for me was to mount the ballasts. its kinda tight space on the inner fenders there but there are a few places to do it.
