K&N drop in filter??

yeah so I want any bits of power I can get.. seeing as how my dad said he would Kill me and then forever garage my car if I bought anything for my car, I cant buy the obvious exhaust, intake, boost controler, etc... HOWEVER... I can do things he cant see...

Im going to buy the K&N no matter what (I will feel better), but I was jsut wandering if it will actually do anything great? Im just talking about the drop in, not the cone...

The KN doesn't seem worth it, but those blue ones really impressed my buddy with a WRX.

just tell your dad you need intake and exhaust for better air flow for your car. it will help keep your car in better shape.

NOOOO no. he does NOT go for the car fixing up thing... I had a civic prior to this car.. I had it pretty mod'ed up.. had an AEM CAI,, flooded my engine once,, after that,, every problem I had,, he blamed it on my "fixing it up".... so now,, I cant do a damn thing..

Just keep the car stock and start a savings account away from his view and just save up a butt load of money for the next car. .

Don't know if this will help but I bought a K&N for my 2003 Protege. Although some say they notice no increase it is nice to have an air filter rated at 1,000,000 miles. Although K&N doesn't promise gains they do say some experience 2-4% increase in overall horsepower.

When I went down to autozone they didn't have a part number for the 2003 so I came home and found it online and it is the same number as last year. For the MSP I am not sure. Part number for the protege is #33-2134.
