^no thanks man, i havent asked about it cuz i checked my funds and they are getting pretty low, so i had to sell the hiboost mani and downpipe, extra 300 but i still dont know how much machining will be, the guy i took my last engine too hooked me up but im not sure if he will do it again lol

Yeah cause a shitload of power isn't that great...wtf?

I wanna get a SS but I don't want to put off install for a few more weeks just to have one before, I'll run the crap msp ecu so I can install then get a SS later.

i was being sarcastic.....

but yea the SS should really help alot, i was reading through the manual and i think i got a gist of what to do to tune it
im going to street tune it though, i am not about to pay somebody just so i can use a dyno lol

OK guys, well i got the pistons, the rods, the SSAFC and pretty much everything else i need that i know of

now i just need some time off of school (thanksgiving break) to get the block bored and honed and the rotating assembly balanced and blueprinted
then i can get everything put back together and be boosting :D

Ok so im kind of in a jam here, im not sure what to do

i have thanksgiving break coming up in like 2 days and i was wondering if i should try to rebuild my engine then or wait till christmas break?
Thanksgiving break is only 6 days long, is it possible to do this in 6 days? im thinking along these lines
Day 1
*Go home for break, let engine cool down, drain oil, coolant, remove and label hoses and wires and get the car on stands, remove axles and remove engine from car
Day2
*Remove engine from trans and place the block on an engine stand, start disassembly, examine engine for any big problems
Day 3
*take the block to get bored, honed, and the rotating assembly blueprinted and balanced...paint random stuff on the car while i wait, cut and weld the bumper support for the FMIC
Day 4
*Pick up the block (hopefully) and start reassembling the engine, im trying to take my time on this so this shoud take all day
Day 5
*bolt the trans back up and get the engine in the car, start putting in the turbo stuff
Day 6
*finish up hooking all the lines back up, refill coolant, refill oil, check check check and recheck connections of wires and hoses
leave that day before 10am

thats cutting it really close...input?

Machine shops usually take more than a day to go over and work on the block.Plus its going to be done over thanksgiving so it may take longer.Id wait till ya had more time so your not rushing it.

+1

You might think you can do it, but trust, one thing will go wrong and it'll drag it out. Wait until you have a week+

yea, but this wait is killing me lol the machine shop im takin it too isnt very busy most of the time so they should have it done quick but you are right, they do take longer then a day

ah man, guess i have to wait until christmas break :(

go to the machine shop and ask them how lon git will take and what not.

yea ive been meaning too but i have to take my moms car to get there, the parking lot has a crazy slope and i know im going to scrape if i go in my car lol

but i updated the first post with new mod list, about to take some new pics of the interior and maybe some outside pics to post to keep u people occupied until xmas

ok so i started work yesterday, so far i have this done
*filled up with a tank of 93
*Drove it up on ramps and put a jack under ir
*Started disconnecting wires and connectors
*Labeled all the wires
*Drained coolant and oil
*Took off header and intake, test fitted Turbo assembly
*Cut off stuff to make the turbo fit, WG was hitting some metal piece, started cutting the bumper beam to fit the IC

I think i got alot of stuff done for having a cold lol tomm ill hopefully be removing and labeling all the coolant hoses and then maybe even take the engine out if its dry. It was pouring rain today so i couldnt get too much stuff done, dry tomm and then rain on tuesday so i have to get this s*** done and get it too the machine shop

_Anybody have any info on how to get to the rear engine mount? it looks pretty hard to reach

lol alright, good to know...i think

ill post up the pics i took tomm with the turbo mock up and the engine bay all torn apart

stay tuned people!

i guess i'll sub and comment on this thread. i take it you're already on x-mas break, luck bastard, i've only taken 2 finals, im done the 21st. but im headed to MD to work on a 240sx. building the sr20 while im there. fun times

yea i had all my finals on friday and saturday :) all three early in the morning so i came back as early as possible

and yea, that does sound like fun, wish i already had the engine out so i could get to the fun stuff lol

i think he's still got the stock ka20 in there. if anything, we'll pull that and paint the engine bay the 21st and build atleast most of the sr20 on the 22nd. who the hell knows but i know i'll have my camera handy
