so which filter did you order? i need to be looking for when i get my turbolife. and are you going to the Friday night meet?

K&N, i just got one that fits directly on the turbo and is angled a little bit
and yea i might go out there if its not raining too hard

no pics or video cuz it was raining all day today pretty much, i have some pics that ill post in a sec but there not that great

my crappy side exhaust

it looks alot lower then it actually is, i welded a bracket for it using some flat bar and an exhaust clamp, drilled holes in the bar, and then welded on more bar to attach to a bolt on the gas tank
its pretty solid, i can almost stand on it without it breaking

and i have 2' of 3" pipe in my garage already, just trying to figure out how im goin to work out the ground clearance issues haha
but yea catless, one resonator and thats it

umm it sounds pretty good below 3-4k rpm but after that it quiets down for some reason
at least on the inside of the car, havent heard it on the outside yet

i cant wait to make it 3" with no resonator, it already gurgles a little when i rev it, i can only imagine straight pipe lol

i know this is alot of updates but oh well i figure i would post them as i think of them

so i was lookin on youtube for side exhausts, found one for a srt4 thats relatively cheap and looked up some pics, looks like itll fit without too much modifying

once i have the cash ill drop it on that and let you guys know how it goes

Honestly, unless side exit exhausts are routed out the body panels (through the sideskirts probably in this case) I'm not usually a huge fan. Just giving u my honest feed back. Although yours dose looks pretty low key, not sticking out unnecessarily like some I have seen in the past.

Have you thought about modifying your side skirt and integrating the side-exit into there? I bet you could find some type of plastic (or rubber, idk) grommet and piping combo that could sit nice and flush in there...

Just some thoughts. Keep doin your thing!

yea that was my original plan actually, but i just didnt want to go cutting up the side skirt when im just in the test fitting stage, you know?
i was looking into buying an extra set of sideskirts so if i mess up with cutting it or something then it wont be permanently lookin like ass
idk yet, ill see how low the other exhaust im gonna buy is before i do any cutting

the 3" side exhaust im lookin at actually has a oval tip so its not just a huge 3" circle stickin out the side
hopefully it looks good lol

I was just watching the Australian V8 Supercars last night with the side exhaust and damn those things sound mean. I would love to hear the side exhaust video of you doing a flyby. But the install looks pretty good, man. And your plan of the sideskirt and 3" oval would look really nice!

thanks man, i sure hope it turns out good lol it better, that exhaust is $325 and im gonna be hacking it up to fit my car haha
if it doesnt fit at all theres a guy in my neighborhood with a srt4 so i guess i could just sell it to him and start over if i need to

man, ive been watchin a ton of side exhaust videos, and the turbo whistle at idle is RIDICULOUS, you can hear it comin through the exhaust, i doubt mine will sound like that but i can always dream haha

Side exhaust will get you a ticket quick and not at all pass inspection. I have my electric cutout just in front of the crossmember just behind the motor with a turndown for when an occasional fireball blasts at the ground instead of torching the person next to me. Can't be seen or heard if it's shut... but opened it sounds very mean and you can very clearly hear the turbo at idle.

well, i hope the cops dont stop me for this exhaust, i doubt they will, cops around here are pretty lenient
i dont plan on having it on for inspection, but i dont have to get inspected for another year which is sweet
my car was one of the few that skipped a year due to the new registration laws

i had a exhaust cutout but i never put it on, the main reason i want side exhaust is because i hate the way my exhaust looks from the back
edit: actually just looked up the laws, an exhaust cutout is illegal but side exhaust isnt LOL weird
either way i dont have a cat so my exhaust is illegal no matter what

so i rode in a modded MS3 last night, and all i have to say is HOLY s***
there is such a huge difference between my car and the MS3
the MS3 just has loads and loads of torque and it felt like the air was being pushed out of my lungs when i was riding in it lol it was awesome
it accelerates so easily too, she hit the gas and before i knew it we were at freakin 85mph
