These sure are fun little cars. By far the best handling car I've ever owned, but not the fastest. I'm still getting accustomed to the torque steer.
Been a rwd guy all my life, 5L Mustangs and such. The last 3 years I've been into 2.3L turbo Ford motors. My last project was an 89 Mustang Coupe with a 2.3L turbo motor from an 86 Thunderbird Turbocoupe. Had a Volvo IC and BPV and a homemade MBC. Ran an 87' TC LA3 computer and a 3" catless downpipe. Most of the time I was running 20lbs of boost, which was easy to do with those motors when IC'd because they had 8.1 forged pistons from the factory. The bottom end was stout, but the weak link was the head and cracking valve seats and blown head gaskets. Most of the guys would call it ghetto, but I was a member of the cheap basterds club on another site. Built the whole thing for $1100 and ran 15.5 @ 93 all day long.
I really miss the sound of that 3t spooling up through my home made CAI. Fact, I've already modified it to use on my MSP. It's a big ol' conical K&N that just fits into the fenderwell. Think I'll do the install tomorrow.
Anyway, this looks like a pretty good site, I'll step back into lurk mode now.
