Just put my wheels on!!!

The sedan has them on the fenders not the p5...

I own a p5, I know where the turn signals are...
The orange light is a parking light, the clear light on the fender is a turn signal. Maybe the orange one functions as both for 02's, all I know is that they're definitely independent on 03's (or at least mine.)

Wheels look good, Defiently need a drop :)

The MSP or MP3 front bumpers are essentially the same as a P5 w/o the reflectors everybody is talking about :)

Wheels look good, now drop it and you'll be golden (pun intended) lol

The sedan has them on the fenders not the p5... And all cars have to have a visible turn signal on the side, the front signal light you can't see from the side and neither is the rear.

His ticket not mine

As stated the 03 and 03.5 P5's have the side markers on the fenders, the 02.5 may but I forget off the top of my head. As for the 02's they do not have visible turn signal on the side, the bumper light is merely a parking light. I have an 02 so I know. So guess if I get a ticket, I can sue Mazda for a design flaw?

It is a reflector...

It is there for safety...

Painting it will simply get you into s*** with the cops...

I don't say s*** just to be an asshole...

mine dont work because of previous asshole owner.

drop that s*** homie...the wheels look sweet!

Are you running spacers w/ extended studs or did you modify the STI wheels?? because IIRC the STI wheels have a 56.1mm center bore compared to Mazdas 67.1mm. If you just slapped them on that is not the safest idea in the world.

I'm guessing that is with the 8mm spacers he purchased from me last week :)

Hi,
I'm new to this forums and I had a question for you. I to was planning to put on gold sti rims on my 03 pro5. What do I need o do to make it fit?
ex:
bore out the hub?
get spacers?
get longer lug nuts? special kind?

Thank you for your time.

Up to you. The safest thing would be to have the center bore drilled out to 67.1 so you don't run spacers. The maximum spacer you can put is 8mm without extended studs on our Protege's. I know as I and the person here is running 8mm. Anything bigger you would need extended studs or the bolt on spacers but that is more expensive.

I love STI wheels on our cars. I really considered them before I bought my FD Wheels. I may still buy some down the road.

On another note..........

Just to clarify for everyone on the marker lamp on our front bumpers, yes it is only a parking/marker lamp and not a turn signal at all. MY bro has an 02 and it only lights up. I have an 03 and it only lights up but I have the upper turn signal on the fenders. Honestly, you can still see the turn signals light from your headlights from the side. I would hope and am sure many do know the difference between the sedan and P5 headlights already. Nothing has changed during 01-03 on Front Sedan/Hatch lighting other than the side fender turn signal and dual beam/single beam reflector headlights.

On a legal note: covering your front side marker/parking lamps can and probably will get you a ticket/fix-it-ticket as it is also used as a reflector. Depending on the officer, he/she may give you a break but they can use this as probable cause to stop you. Same goes for the rear tails as well. They are there for a reason. Cover them at your own risk.

Love the wheels, will look great once it's lowered. As far as alternatives to the side markers;

You can do like Bikingpro5 and use body filler, or in my case, I needed a new bumper and got a MSP bumper. The MSP's had the side markers built into the headlight and not the bumper, therefore, no side markers on my bumper
