I'm new to this and unfamiliar with how these forums work. I was drawn to this community because my husband owned a Mazda 323 GTX (the rally version) that he was very proud of. (He died a year and a half ago).

The Mazda had a cataclysmic failure (the crankshaft broke) after many thousands of kilometers and I think it nearly broke his heart when he realized that replacing the crankshaft was an enterprise that was too expensive. He would not let the vehicle be consigned to the scrap yard, so he moved it into a place of benign retirement (the backyard under a tree) where it has sat for 3 years as the tires sank into the earth.

I now have to decide what to do with this vehicle because I need to sell my property. I could have a wrecker tow it away, but my husband impressed me with the fact that this car is special, so it occurred to me that there might be some folks out there who would be interested in having it for parts. I understand that some folks are very attached to their 323. Could anyone direct me if there would be such interest? I live in Canada which is likely quite far away from anyone who would still be running such a car.

yah it is a bit rare, atleast in the States it is. I am sure you could find someone willing to get it for parts or something.

What part of Canada do you live in? Best thing you can do is Post for sale adds on the Mazda forums stating where your from, how much you would like for the car (Ask a few locals for ideas of what it might be worth in its present condition, or even post pictures on the forums/ email pictures to interested parties for ideas), and if its complete or not. If you would like help with it, feel free to call on me, in my profile (Run your mouse over my screen name on the left), you can Private message me and I will try my best to help you out, and guide you in the right direction.

Im sorry for your loss, but your Husband had good taste in Foreign cars. :)

Regards,
Kyle
