I know there has been a TON of threads on both of these products .. but I had to start one myself

I just installed my COBB SRI and my FORGE BPV and WOW ... the car feels MUCH FASTER .. and the FORGE bpv combined with the COBB intake is insanely loud lol

car sounds like a JET spooling and then when the bpv goes off ... it is def a clanging swords sound but i like it and its LOUD AS HELL .. i cant even imagine having a BOV that VTA ... it must be ridicilously loud....

The install of the intake was very straight forward and easy and i read in another thread a great tip that helped me with the 90 degree elbow ... instead of trying to get it off the accordian part .. just disconnect the other side of it and then take it off the accordian piece when its out of the car.. SO MUCH EASIER...

the BPV install was VERY easy ... 2 bolts.. and 2 hoses...

i was almost sure i installed it wrong somehow because it was so loud .. i was like.. hrmm did i forget to hook something up lol .. i used the BLUE SPRING and the car feels great

well thats enough of my soap box talk .. but I just wanted to say im very happy with both pieces and if anyone is considering either.. DEF GET EM :)

I have been considering both for the performance, I guess the stealth stock sound will be out the window. Anyways, thanks for sharing!

yes the stealth sound will be far gone .. imo .. the car is LOUD .. the bov is VERY loud and the intake sounds like a jet ... def hear you coming from a good distance

why is it that people say that the forge BPV is quiet ? ... i know some dont like the CHING sound .. but its by no means quiet

Someone in another thread said forge is looking to change the sound on their bpv. I want to get a forge but I don't like the sound. I'll probably end up getting it though because I think my stocker is leaking

I've installed the same combo. I added one shim just to experiment. I agree -- cool sounds and definitely feels stronger. Winds more easily, as well.

If you don't like the forge, and if you're willing to spend a little more money, get the HKS SSQV bolt-on kit from protege garage. Its a great BPV, sounds nicer than the forge IMHO, and its ridiculously easy to install (as long as you get PG's bolt-on specific kit, otherwise its a PITA from what other people have said)

That was another option I was thinking about. Both are great products and should be better than my stock bpv. I'm jus waiting to make sure I have a leak before I get one. As soon as this ventpod comes I'll see what I'm gonna do

I had an identical experience when I did the same install. "WOW" is the only way to describe it. It is louder than I would have liked but it is fun "hissing" on VW's, Honda's and best of all BMW's. (cabpatch)

I got the forge new for about a 1/3 of what the HKS goes for. There is a definite performance increase, and to me the BOV sounds great.

The HKS is not worth nearly 200 bucks more, that is a Cobb SRI, or most the STS.

Also, with the black forge, the mechanic at your dealer will really have to know these cars to tell the difference.

Forge FTW.

Probably going with a polymer piston like they did with their Audi BPV but then changed back to an aluminum part due to warping issues. Maybe they have perfected it? BTW... Valvoline synthetic grease works great in these BPV's when it comes time to service them.

I just installed my cobb sri and am looking to get the forge as well, seems to be a good set of upgrades and not too big of a dent out of the bank account. I just dont know if the ping of the forge would get old after a while.

Yeah, but on the hks you don't have to worry about springs and shims right? That seems to be too much of a hassel to mess with. I'm still debating on which one to get. Gosh! Choices...

it honestly doesn't bother me at all. if you really wanted to, you can drive without blowing it off. i always have my music pretty loud either way. it's a great bpv.

its not really much to worry about ..i opened the bov .. took out the yellow spring .. put in the blue spring and that was it .. took 2 seconds and even if you needed to change.. its not like its a big project. im not using any shims
