Yes, US GTX with JDM 1.8L turbo motor. He had the GTR motor in it and something internal went because it wasn't tuned properly (installer couldn't tune Microtech) . Replaced it with the 1.8 JDM motor (BPT) with stock ECU and then the car just sat for a few years because he moved out of town.

Car idling...

Looks like fun! BPT's are good strong engines. So are the B6T's from the 80's. But more power potential from the 1.8 over the 1.6l. Good grab dude, you will love that car, but watch out depending on the tranny he used. If its factory, its a glass house.

Good find.

The rubber boot that connects to the MAF looks like the nipplie is broken off. Is it plugged?

I really haven't had a chance to go over the car and check out all the bugs. He has 2 front bumpers for me that I'd have to modify to fit that intercooler. That's not a problem.

It has the tranny from GT-R because he originally did that swap but that motor broke something inside because it wasn't tuned properly. He had a Microtech on it and he nver got it tuned (not smart!). So I still have that tranny in it but he replaced with the BPT from the JDM GTX. He's giving me the R motor so I have some spare parts. actually the turbo on it is from the R version as well. All those spare parts are in Atlanta and I'm down here in south Florida.

I didn't notice that broken nipple on the MAFS intake house. No, it isn't plugged. Thanks for telling me. Doesn't matter anyway because I have an old school Haltech which will eliminate the air flow meter and just use MAP (speed density setup). Gonna eliminate the dizzy ignition as well and go wasted spark and semi sequential injection.

I really can't do this now because I have 3 car projects already (Nissan S13 and S14 and an old school Audi coupe) and have to keep this Mazda a secret from wifey. We just got a project house as well and I have a 1 year old daughter that I'd rather play with that fool around with any of these cars. ;O)
