Just got the dyno done on my ms3 Today

I got the dyno done on my ms3 today and here are the # 238whp and 253torque. I wish the car would have sat for more than 20 min after driving for 1hr, I think the # would have been alittle more but in all pretty good with hks short ram intake and turbo xs bov and hks cat back. If the car would have had a chance to sit for 1hr the # would have been i think alot better, but that heat soak kills the hp on our cars. I was told with a fmic and the cobb port I should be pretty close to 300hp. I will be buying the cobb port soon and will dyno again to see what happens. I will have the dyno run on you tube soon, I will post the link asap.(redp5)

Or you could save yourself several hundred bucks and just get an aftermarket TMIC. People claim that even after driving for awhile, the intercooler is cool to the touch.

Your numbers seem good. All you have for power is an intake.

As for your 300 whp remark. . . . not possible. You can't break 300 whp safely unless you upgrade the turbo. With full bolt ons and stock turbo you can prob get around 280ish with a good tune.

I think with a downpipe and a aftermarket IC, he could just about be at 300 whp, considering both those mods give you around 20 - 25 whp a piece.

There are a few guys with stock turbos putting out over 300whp

When i talk to the tech at the dyno he told me that just with a fmic and a cobb port i can make about 60whp just with those 2 upgrades, so that should put me at about 298whp. He told me that once these cars get heat soak they lose alot of power, which i already know, thats why i said if the car could have set for an hour or so i think it would have been in the 240's.

I'd have a little difficulty believing that just a FMIC and Accessport are going to net you 60 whp, maybe with a downpipe. Do you know what kind of dyno you used?

Try to find out whether it was a mustang dyno or not. If they used your hubs and not your wheels, then it was probably a dynojet.

but buy the 3rd run on the dyno the power had already dropped from 238whp to 218whp do to the heat soak, thats 20whp that's lost do to heat soak, so it maybe possible

Hmmm, didn't they have a couple fans on while running the car?

Dynojets tend to read a bit high because they do it from the hub, which bars out about 100 lb's of rotational mass that the car doesn't have to spin.

Do you have a copy of the dyno results? They usually say what type of dyno was used.

ya they had fans but the problem was that i drove about 1hr and 30min to get to the dyno and the car only sat for about 20min before they started to dyno it

You dont just add up horsepower like that. A TMIC is advertised to give 20 hp and a downpipe 25 hp. Its not like after you install both you get 45. It doesn't work that way. Im not trying to be an ass or anything but lots of people assume 300 whp is "easy." In regards to the heat soak thing weren't you running a fan over your IC during teh dyno run ??

Stop trying to crush his dreams coyfish!! I think with a TMIC, downpipe, turbo inlet pipe and Accessport 300 whp is possible!

I'm gonna dyno mine once I put on my 1 step colder plugs Forge BPV and SU TMIC, hoping for around 260 whp and 280 lb-fts. I'll take a bag of ice for my IC too!
