Just for Swampass.....(intercooler H2O Sprayer)

You can use the water sprayer from STI.
Actually, his kit is virtually identical to the STi sprayer. The STi uses a small poly tank in the trunk (much like the one in Demi's kit) plus a winshield sprayer motor (just like the one in Demi's kit).

The water line runs along the passenger door sills and into the motor, then attaches to the hood like windshield spray lines do, but instead of popping through the hood to point at the glass, they attach to the hood scoop to point at the intercooler.

The only thing Demi is missing from the STi setup is a low-water warning light & float switch in the tank, and a momentary switch that sprays for 5 seconds after one press.

Dude, you might be the next contender for the Red Green show. I had mistaken your genius for slap togetherness.
My genius lies in my slap togetherness sir, that and im ability to host a fancy dinner party with doilies at the drop of a hat. Of course i dont have to tell YOU these things.

Those are all great ideas! I had given some though to the float for a gauge, but i want a better pump and what not before i start really going wild. Awesome suggestions though. When i got drunk the other night i even toyed with the idea of a butane cooling system for the water. Like if you were at a light and got messed with but you had hot water in your res you could discharge butane into the water to cool it. Of course the butane would be gone from the water nearly instantly but it would leave you with ice cold water. Not cost effective but fun to think about.

put some nitrous in that bad boy and u have a homemade Ntercooler Sprayer thing haha

All jokes aside, im really giving that some thought. Im an Aircraft Electro/Environmental Specialist so its right up my alley. Im gonna try when i get my front mount. I will of course keep you all posted.

well if ur seriously gonna do that, u need new lines and stuff dont u?
cuz i think n2o would make the rubber hoses to cold and they would break
i dont know much about N2O though

besides that it might work

Oh yeah none of this would work with nitrous. It would all be steel braided lines and what not.

It must be fate. It is about 90 today and construction had traffic stopped for half an hour. And all I had was hot air blowing. When does the unit go into production! haha. This must be addressed. I was barely able to spin second gear. I think I will use ww pump and reservoir. I also would like to use the stock method of triggering the pump. I could reroute hoses to the IC. Any opinion on the volume of fluid needed to be effective in dispelling heatsoak on the ets 3.5. I would need an appropriate nozzle also for dispersing liquid across the top vanes of IC. Thoughts and demeaning comments welcome. Thanks Demi for starting the trouble up. and ps your mom is one too!

I don't think it would do much good in prolonged traffic...more for short bursts like staging at the track after waiting in line for 10 minutes!

Due to the heat today I had trouble removing the heat soak on the cool side of IC even afer being in open air and 65mph. But definitely need ice and such in the staging lane thanks

I dont know how big an issue having a heatsoaked intercooler is in heavy traffic, as you shouldnt be flooring it there anyway. I found with ice in the res i would good for almost a whole night at the track. I added some more half way through.
Thanks Demi for starting the trouble up.
Lol i do what i can.

all you need for to make it spray for a couple extra seconds is a capacitor wired into the switch. dont ask me how to wire it in or how big of a capiacator you need.

I'm thinking of making one or having my sponsors fab up one for when my FMIC is done as well (scheduled this next weekend along with the intake).

The sprayer alone is great for here in AZ. We had to spray down the IC when I got my car dyno'd because the hotside was retardedly hot after one pull :(

To clear up, after getting back to highway speed for for a couple minutes, which almost always brings intake temps back to norm. This time did not. For the first time since I had the car. In this case I would like a more convenient way to cool the ic down without stopping and icing it. I want to keep the motor safe and happy. This seems like an excellent idea for me if I can iron out the details. The ice in your reservoir lasted longer than I would have imagined! Did you use cubed or crushed? haah Good stuff Thanks

Hey Mike did you see the recent post of a brothers dyno pull. Maybe you have some good advice for him on dyno runs!

if i dont do meth injection(which i prolly will) i would do this..
Water/meth injection and I/C waterspray are not mutually exclusive.

In fact, if you do water injection, you could share the water tank between the two systems.
