just curious... whats your next car?

I am still very happy with my ms3 and this is coming from someone who has had 10 vehicles over the past 10 years.

I will probably keep it for many, many years as a DD. As a future toy I am thinking an MX-5 Miata or a used 911 997. You get can get the 997 on the high 40's now which is a deal.

that's good to hear. I am the same way about cars, I have blown through altimas, civic, and toyota because the cars always seemed to fall short in one way or another. I have been doing a lot of reading on the MS3 and it seems pretty flippin perfect though,,,

so to answer the topic question, my next car will be an 09 MS3. (thumb)

i'm going to help my GF get a first gen mazda 6, then she will be more than a GF, and then possibly trade the ms3 for a truck(used), and buy a rear will drive car, possibly Z coupe or M coupe as a mostly track car.

this would be the bimmer i would want....just too bad that bmw stands for bring more wallet

The M Coupes are a real hoot. If you get wired into BMW CCA and have access to a good dealer and/or indie shop a BMW isn't all that expensive to run. My 1995 3 Series has averaged @$600/year to run over the nearly fourteen years I've owned it- and that number includes three sets of sticky track rubber. My local dealer performed the major(Inspection II) service, changed the brake fluid, and repaired a curbed wheel on my wife's X3 for $424.

I love my Speed. I'll probably keep her for six or seven years. I almost bought a Magnum SRT-8, but 48 sparkplugs in the driveway, plus no benefit mileage-wise made me stick with the Speed. Maybe a Nissan 400Z, or an Infiniti G40.

highly doubt nissan will allow the v6 to get to 4liters. 3.8 is already big.

at 4 liters they might as well go to a v8

My next car will be rwd, I was looking into one of the new 370Z's, but don't like the styling at all.

i love the 370's styling. with the drop its going to look sick

and who buys a car when they dont like the styling of it?:wtf:

As much as I love my MS3, I plan on trading mine in this year for a CX-7 as the family has grown in the past year. Hopefully within the next year or two I'll be able to pick up a used RX-8.

something along the lines of this. when i feel the need to go fast, i'll just jump on my bike. i love the whole vip look.

you will <3 the cx-7
we like ours a lot :)
and most of the mods can be swapped over.

but back on topic, i am looking to trade the ms3 in for a 370z
or an 09 s2000 since it's the last year. but i'll have to drive them
both first to see if i even like it, or if i will miss the torque to much

370 z's have higher torque dont they?

Yes but if you've ever driven an 05 and up S2000 (2.2 liter motor) you most likely wouldn't be disappointed unless you can't fit in one right (Designed for a small to avg size person) The car is a riot to drive, gets pretty good mpg, built from the ground up as a convertible, Honda reliability, Hand built motor with forged internals, light weight, 50/50 weight distribution, awesome ergonomics, 8200 redline, etc. It's not as fast in a straight line (5.3 zero to sixty / 13.9 - 14.1@around 99-103 mph in the 1/4) but the handling is excellent and so is the fun to drive factor.

False actually, the 370Z has 10 less ft-lbs than the MS3.

You'll be luck to see high 13's in the S2000, you can't weigh very much, weight affects those cars a lot. Mod's don't do anything for the car either, you have to boost them to get any more power out really.

true

but with the new hp and rwd mags are getting 0-60 less than 5 seconds (4.7 for motor trend i believe)

and the problem i have with the s2k is the fact that the engine is maxed out as it is, and from what i understand you gotta lower the compression ratio substantially to do anything (especially boost). i also think that ppl tend to supercharge them more than turbocharge. i do love the s2k, but the base price is just a little too much for me to want to get it as a weekend tuner. even the older ones are still fetching a good amount (damn honda and it's reliability values)

I never said the 370Z had more tq than the MS3. 370Z makes 270ft/lbs@5200rpms and the MS3 makes 280ft/lbs@3000rpms.

You don't have to be "lucky" to run high 13's in an S2000. Besides that's not what it's built for anyhow. It's a fun 2 seater convertable that you can take to the track and have a blast with.

Depending on the styling of the 2010 Mazdaspeed3, I'll probably trade for a new one in black.
If it ends up being as ugly as the regular 3, then I'll sit tight for a while.
