Just another yellow P5 build...

I got it! And it's so stupid!

I was going through as many pins on the ecu plug as I could. Verified that the cmp, ckp, both ignition coil circuits, both o2 sensor circuits, we're all good. Was getting pretty discouraged.

Decided to check the maf circuit, pin 88 which is light green/black. Go to maf sensor, there is no light green/black, hmm. Poke around a bit more, turns out the maf and tps use the same exact plug and I had them backwards. So stupid. But thank you to everyone that pitched in. And to pcb with the pages.

She runs! Little piston slap, but that's to be expected, set cold oil pressure to 45 psi, we'll see where that lands hot oil pressure tomorrow and adjust accordingly. When I first started it, oil pressure was well above the 100 psi that my gauge reads, haha. But man does it ever run smooth. Engine balancing made a huge difference.

Hey hey, well done mate!!
Glad ya found it and didn't fry anything!!!
Same plugs is stupid haha

Well I don't get why swapping plugs should prevent the scanner from connecting ???

It would be nice if it connected and gave you a code to help you find the problem instead of playing dead.

I feel like swapping the plugs on my car just to see what happens...

Go do it, I'd be curious to see too. Although I'd recommend disconnecting the battery first just to be safe.

I Dunno... I don't know exactly where the plugs are,.. It's +7 F right now and my car will run like s*** for 100 miles if I disconnect the battery.

Car starts beautifully. We let it idle until warm, piston slap goes away. However when I went to drive it, the brake pedal goes down really far and the afr gauge goes very lean. Like up to 17.5.

You called it, super simple.

My new brake booster setup was kind of ghetto with two peices of hose and a check valve from an old honda. Replaced it with the one that I was running before. Hopefully it works right. Brakes and clutch were fully bled.

Still have yet to drive the car. Ordered a new brake master cylinder. Mine was having issues before during the summer, brakes would get a little soft on hot days and fluid would weep out a bit, which has stripped all the paint off the brake booster.

bench bled and swapped in new master cylinder. Painted new rear driver's brake caliper, because I snapped the bleeder off the one I had and couldnt get it out. got some longer bolts for the e-brake brackets, because i need to run some washers to space the bracket out around the bottom of the coilover strut because slammage prevents the ebrake cable from fitting.

Frustration! Replaced master cylinder and bled all 4 wheels. Great feel when off, start the car, pedal hits the floor. Ordered a new brake booster. I noticed when I press the pedal down afr shoots up to 17-18.
