Just another CWP '13 ms3

when you press the signal to move over a lane instead of having to hold it down part way you can just hit it once and the blinker with go three times

If you look at the back few pages of your owners manual there are about 50 "personalization options" that the dealer can change for you. I had them set up a ton of stuff like the smart turn signal, later auto lights, the car locks as soon as I walk out of the "zones" on the side, etc.

So just a quick update, ordered the JBR short shift plate and bushings that should be here tonight, a used turbosmart BPV that will be here tomorrow, and will be ordering autotech fuel pump internals and a COBB accessport from edgemotorsports (killer deal on the set) this weekend. Going to flash it with the Stage2 93 octane tune from Stratified (Lex) that is made specifically for the JBR intake system. Supposed numbers are 270whp and 305ft lbs just with the full intake and tune.

Althought i like your progress, i would not flash stage 2 yet. Stage 2 is designed for a setup where there is only 1 cat in your exhaust. I have internals as well but am waiting until i install my testpipe this weekend to flash stage 2. It is really tuned for the reduced back-pressure. I would throw a testpipe into your order too if you can afford it or just try to find one used.

thanks for the heads up, i think i am going to hold off on the suspension upgrades until i feel out what the stock gear can do and what the car is currently capable and go from there.

First off the car spent the day at mazda, i had them turn on the smart turn signal option and have my auto lights come on slightly later. They also applied the xzilon interior and exterior protection treatment (see http://www.xzilon.com/ for more info). More work tonight as well, installed the JBR power path stage II intake system (Short ram and TIP) along with some yellow fog overlays. First off the intake system not only installed super easy but the hardware is top notch (t-bolt clamps, knurled flanges on the maf housing, and large lips on the couplers). Improvement is huge, the car no longer runs out of breathe up top in the revs and pulls quite a bit harder.

Quick question. When the dealer activated your smart turn signal option, what did they end up charging you? What is the difference when its activated vs. not? Where did you get your LED running lights from? Thanks!

activation was free, they told me i get one free shot at changing whatever customization options i wanted to. When you turn it on instead of holding the turn signal down or fully engaging it you can push the signal stalk (without engaging the full signal) and it will flash your turn signal three times. just a basic convenience/laziness setting

LED lights are just basic 194 led bulbs, same thing you put in the license plate bulbs, i got mine from amazon

Received and installed my bushings, SSP and BPV today. I did the shifter stuff in stages so i could report on the difference each one gave me. First up was the bushings, a little bit of a pain to get installed just because of the lack of room but nothing too terrible. You can see very clearly in the picture below why these bushings are a great upgrade (and a bargain at $25 shipped) tons of room in the metal part that sits in a rubber bushing aka all kinds of free play. I am sure with a lot more miles on the car it will get even more sloppy. After the install the shifter engagement felt more solid overall happy with the results with no adverse effects.

The SSP came next, i have felt the shift length was way too long for my liking and after research this was the most well thought out SSP currently on the market (it moves the cable out of the way as to not tear any of the cable boots) and obviously the slight bling factor as well. I set the adjustment at halfway which *should* reduce the throw about 30% (adjustable 20-40%). The really cool part, and why i am really enjoying JBR parts, is not only do you get the shift plate you get a new counterweight, all new hardware, and they even include a small bottle of loctite. After installing i am LOVING it, shift throw is perfect now i think any shorter it would be too short and i still get positive engagement. I think i may need to adjust the shift cable slightly but not much.

Lastly was the Turbosmart BPV, bought this on a whim as a used part as i wanted to try and at least get some boost relief sound along with the benefits of a non stock valve. Install was straight forward just two bolts and two hoses, hardest part was i had to make my own gasket as i didnt get one with the used part but that was even pretty easy. There is a little bit more sound than the stock valve but not much at all overall sort of a pointless mod but for what i paid for it i am not too upset, i may go to a 50/50 valve later down the road but this will suffice for now.

Bad news i received today is that edgeautosport is currently out of stock on autotech internals, the bad part about this is i was going to get the COBB ap and internals from them in a highly reduced combo package but the internals wont be back in stock for a couple weeks. Tried another vendor but they dont price match which means i am stuck waiting now for a few weeks.

Resonator delete is complete. Took it today to get it chopped out and a straight pipe welded in. Very small difference in cabin noise, i could tell it was done but not much difference over stock almost at all so i am happy, exterior noise is a bit different though and i am hoping it gets even better when i put the test pipe in.

I have gone ahead and ordered the Cobb Accessport, Autotech fuel pump internals, and ebay test pipe. The test pipe and AP should be here this week if not early next week. The autotech internals unfortunately are on a back order at the moment but will be drop shipped directly to me from autotech when they come back in stock. Very happy with my experience using maperformance.com for ordering the AP and FP internals they cut me a great price and took care of all the shipping.

AP showed up last week... unfortunately COBB sent me one for a subaru for some odd reason so the new one should be here tomorrow or wednsday. Test pipe showed up today as well, Doesnt look bad for am ebay unit. But still cant install anything until the FP internals show up i think they should be in sometime in the next two weels

Sounds good I'm starting to like the sound of the resonator delete mod. Tasteful mods what are your goals of the car? And it's neat how just a good intake and tune can increase a good amount of power on these motors.
