I installed my joepmbc and its awesome. Only thing is I live in PA so its pretty cold here right now like 30-40 degrees every day and I keep hitting fuel cut. After my engine warms up I dont' hit it that much but it still scares the s*** out of me when I do. I have it set to 9 psi right now and I tried turning it down (turning it counter clockwise) but it does not turn down. Am I doing something wrong or cant' the mbc be turned back to stock level (6.5psi)? If I just connect the wastegate line back to the T connector will that put me back to stock level? I was thinking of getting a FCD but I think there is a reason that it fuel cuts and its bad to defend that. Please comment. Thanks guys.

The MBC will not go down to stock boost- it's job is to increase boost :). The reason however is because the MBC acts as a slight restriction in the wastegate line even when open and it also has a bleed hole in it that is necessary for it to operate properly (all ball and spring style MBC's have this). Between the restriction and the bleed hole, you will always increase boost by a couple PSI just by installing an MBC.

As for fuel cut- that is a decision you have to make- if you feel it is there for a reason, then on the same note- the boost is set where it is from the factory for a reason too :).. You can't "sort of" mod a car. You do or you don't :). There are risks involved everytime you touch something on the car- it is up to you to decide if it is something you are willing to take or not.

Just a note however- cars are setup the way they are for one reason- warranty. They have to make sure the car runs as long as possible with as little trouble as possible. They have to also account for the morons that will put regular unleaded fuel in it, don't keep up with the maintainance, etc. If the car is in good tune, has premium fuel, etc., it will handle far beyond the stock limits.

That clears up a lot for me. I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions. Its nice to have the manufacturer right here on the forum. I understand what you mean by why they engineer the car like that because there are idiots out there who will put regular fuel in there tank and not change the oil regularly. As for me and others on this forum we take care of ours. My car is my second girlfriend. I'm going to research more into fuel cut defensers. I think I am going to go that route. Thx Joe.

I am not always here to answer things, but when I do get here, I try to browse around and do what I can :). Yeah, they have a lot to take into consideration when they design a car. I was partially wrong when I said for one reason. There is more to it then just warranty, but that is the big part. They can't desing a car to perform to it's max potential and expect it to hold up in the publics hands :). People will mod further, neglect, screw with, etc. until it does break anyway...
