JDM tails

If he could get the sport 20 bumper conversions then he would probably end up with a SH*T ton of buisness. I know he would have at least one paying customer right here!

Honestly I think it's a year model thing in Japan...Because I can get the USDM style tails in Japan also. I def agree tho, I like the JDM tails much better, they just look cleaner to me, the circles in the USDM tails remind me of Altezza style tails too much, which I hate.

The SP20 in Australia came with both, the 2001 and early 2002 got JDM and the late 2002 -2003 got the US style one's.

Get the SPROT-20 Bumper at the same time...

I would get em but it would prob cost me an arm and leg to get em here I bet . Ill stick with new taillights for now lol .

But doesn't it look like the usdms anyway? I'm looking at your pictures and my car right now and looks like the same too me :l

yeah look closer, dude...the North American rear bumper is over double the width (profile wise, from the bottom of the hatch i mean)...

Brian, what exhaust do you use? Did you just modify the tip, or did you modify the hangers and cut a bit out of the mid pipe or something?

Oic k I notice the width now that you point it out. For me tho ill stick with the usdm one I use my car for work and I'm always loading things in my hath so that extra width helps me . But to every man his own so someone else might want the jdm one

The car is a full 9.5" shorter in the rear and the JDM bumper hangs 1.2" Lower.

The Ex system was re welded 9.5" shorter.

Update:

Okay the first set of tails has arrived at the Tokyo location and are being packed to ship the the states...I'll let you know when they send em out and when they get here. As far as my second set, I have not received an update on them yet but will let yah know when my guy gets his hands on them.

I thought it was you who got these. lol

If it is though you should be able to take off those covers and put them on a fresh set of tail lights, not so?

so that's why you sold them to marc :(

sucks to hear Tim. I'm sure they would look wicked on your ride ;)

EDIT: ^^^^^ the above is for Zoom Zoom

also... you are incorrect there... its not plug and play with the ADM tails.
The Aussie tails do not have a light globe in the lower section of the light (only the upper).
so without a loom you would have to splice into the wires from the top globe.

getting the harness is just easier :p saves a few minutes.

No mate i don't think they come back off, i know someone that gave it a go and it did not work.

You don't need a wiring loom, it's plug and play with ADM
Yeah, that's for the AUS one's not the JDM one's.

The AUS one's have 3 lights and the JDM one's have 4 lights.

in regards to this.... not so much hey!
they are glued/stikaflexed onto the tail light... attempting to remove the fiberglass covers would result in them being broken.

Already tried that, and yeah they arent coming off anytime soon!

You can only see the crack in detail if the lights are on it, im not too fussed about it really :)

interesting, I honestly wish that Mazda had just used the JDM ones on all cars. The lights are super effective during braking and park lights.

the us ones are silly looking circles..

we got both styles here, the J48's got those "silly circles"... and i agree... definitely not a fan.

FYI - with the JDM tails, the top section is the brake and parker. and the bottom section is a parker only.
and not all JDM tail lights have the rear foglight.

All the lights I look into sourcing have the wire harnesses with them, they generally come that way in Japan. So no worries there!

And I Agree with everyone on that, not a fan of the funny circles, they look cheesy to me also... ;)
