is your turkey still loud

you actually put a turkey in your engine?

my turkey was actually hiding inside when i bought the car, and it wont leave..

edit: sorry for being so unproductive, but your gonna need to give more info. Do you have a CAI, if you do youll hear it more than the stock airbox. Also its louder when there is more pressure, or if you shift to neutral. Its normal though.

If you put a turkey in your engine, it's probably dead.
I dont know about that - amazingly they can take a shotgun shell and survive- just dont let it get wound up on the belts and you should be ok -

(ps - the injen is great for scaring pedestrians!!)

Well being the only serious one in answering your question, I think my turkey has gotten quieter since I put it in, but I think I'm just used to hearing it so often. I put mine in in the winter so I never really heard it with the windows down. The first time I drove with the windows down....DAMN it was LOUD as hell! I still love it when someone gets in my car for the first time though, they're like "What the **** was that?"

I don't know how you guys drive ,but i am never in N unless i am stopped or near stopped. How many of you guys use engine braking like you are supposed to?This is the proper way to drive a manual car.It seems to me that a lot of you guys don't know how to to this properly with all the talk of stalling on BOV's and such from shifting to N at high RPM's.I just don't see why you would be doing this.
Sorry

I just traded in my msp for a new msp( dont ask), did all the aftermarket swap yesterday. I can say that with the new car, and my CAI, the turkey is MUCH louder than it was with my old car with 13000 miles.

I have to ask....WHY?
Why another trouble ridden car when you already had one?

dude i am never in neutral unless stopped with clutch in. I was just telling him a fact. Personally i downshift and rev match all the time. Nowhere in that post did i ever say "this is my favorite thing ever, rev to 800000 and drop to N."

stop making inferences

if you didn't somehow manage to come out even(which i highly doubt you did) you wasted your money.

Sorry, this wasn't directed toward you specifically. It was more of a generalization on a lot of posts on this board.Didn't mean to make it look like i was talking specifically bout you.I wasn't.just mostly refers to the guys who talk bout dropping to neutral from like 800000 RPM's .

Dude, thats a FANTASTIC way to kill your throwout bearings! Engine braking will also kill your clutch if you don't know how to do it properly (rev matching, etc). If you are at a light, you should definitely put it in N and let the clutch out.

As for the turkeying.... yeah its pretty loud still, but I only got 2.5K miles....

800,000 RPM...... I wonder what numbers our car would theoretically make at 800,000 RPM.......

sorry that was a typo it should have said "stopped or with the clutch in", but you get my point

NP, it did seem a little odd to me too, and what's worse is that I know people like that too.
