Is this possible?

I want to know if this is even remotely possible...here it goes...

I would like to have a double din HU thats touchscreen with input, and then on the input I would like to hook up a carputer. But this is the tricky part, is there any 2 din HU that will have USB out to hook up the touchscreen to the carputer so I can use the same screen to control the carputer?

Just from a quick google search you can find more tho. Different options and higher and lower prices. They're all around 250 or so.

Carputers rock. Got a buddy with one in his Subie and it's very cool. I'm thinking about getting one soon here, just getting some subs and speakers first.

The best way is get a CHEAP used desktop or laptop, a touchscreen lcd, an amp, and some cables. The thing that's gonna cost you the most is probably the LCD or the computer.

Go to newegg.com and under computers there are these things called mini computers. Idk if anyone has used them before but that's what i was thinking about getting and you can get those for around $150 which is pretty good. Then you can always upgrade later if you want more memory or ram etc..

Thanks for the info guys, but I was thinking if there was a headunit like this one:

that had a way to connect the touchscreen to the carpc, that way If I want to load a DVD I just pop it in through the HU, not the carpc I want to place under the passanger seat...or idk if theres another way around this?

I wanna do carpc because I already have a moderately good PC doing nothing and an amp.

Oh alright. Yeah most of the newer decks like that flip up one have usb ports in them. It all depends on which one though you would just have to make sure.

Don't quote me but yes if the screen has a usb on it then everything should work fine. Just do some reading and research
