is this a decent turbo manifold?

hmm well its an equal length design...means boost will kick in all at once instead of in stages, like with a log style manifold.....but like they said you'd have to run it to tell...
How is this? When you say stages, please elaborate.

Matt whos log is that? Id like to get mine coated but JET HOT wants $165 just for the header. and I wanted the hot side of the turbo and the downpipe done too.
If you need anything JetHot coated, let me know.I offer 20% off to all Mazda Members.

yah it seems the general thought about OBX is like APC, bad quality or basically a get what you pay for thing. Well just because it is cheaper doesnt mean quality loss, they just mass produce almost all their products unlike most companies and therefor and do better pricing, of course it may not be as good as a custom made piece, but that is Custom Made, nothing will compare to it, or what it will cost u.

Like I said I dont plan on parting a kit together, when Im eventually ready I will be going MAM or HiBoost, of course this depends on how many lessons I can do at work and what I can make, my paychecks are completely absorbed by bills...just that time in my life.

I have payed about 320CAD$ up til now in peaces for my manifold. I don't pay for welding and designing so you can see that they have a good price.

Here's the FM mani, I guess you would call it a "log style".

mean the first exhaust port has to coem further then the third which is mounted directly in front of the turbo and the second and forth are about equal. with this OBX design you have the same length of piping all coming the to the flange making a constant/ simulatinous flow.

yes it is

as for the OBX manifold, I can probably get it for alot cheaper than whats listed there. I'll see what I can do.

As for OBX not being a good company, I've got to say I totally disagree. Thier headers are top notch, the welds are seamless and everything they have ever shipped me has been L337 quality.
yea thats awesome. like i said i cant tell without holding it in my hands but from my weldin studies it looks like the welds are drawn to slow. it cant really be said until some has the product.

senor, when did you submit ?
not sure i have to say maybe the end of jan. I have the cash in hand but its hard for me to spend close to 3 gs on a turbo kit to make a 14 sec car. Thats why i decided since i didnt get the sponsership to buy a sentra classic prob a 91 and throw in a W11 sr20det or u12 with a top mount. I plan to do the work myself just liek everthing else with the protege so itll really only cost me like 4-5gs and i have a low 13 sec car and thats a stock motor so a modded motor should prove even more promising, The nice thing about at w11 is it is a t25 with a t28 compressor wheel. But if i end up with a u12 i plan to upgrade the turbo at some point but i figue a well tuned (with a greddy emange) t25 should put me into the low low 13s. Cant wait. Im still int he middle though cause if someone part thier car out i may take the turbo kit off thier hands.

excuse my half drunken rambling....

capt, can you get me a quote for my log header and a short downpipe? It comes out from the turbo and into the stock pipe that was under the first cat.
