I have got to know if there is something easier than taking the throttle body off to get the IAC valve off. Somebody has got to have a trick to remove it without destroying the 4 screws. Anybody?
Thanks.

Yes there is Mazda Rich all you have to do is remove the Hose first and then use a very long Philips screw Driver and a pair of Vise grips and Wd-40 all those tools should help . Oh yah watch this How to video and let me know how that helps

In that video he shows the correct Security Torx bit (not sure which size) required to remove and clean the IAC, that is all that is needed. Our IACs don't have any other lines running to them you can just remove the two Torx screws.

This guy is terrible lol

I would like to actually know how to clean it though

Hey man i know it took him 3 days to get that Screw out lol! But he did it all in one video you should really give him the benefit of the Doubt. What makes you say that he's terrible ? I think this Video was a great Visual on how to gain access to the Screws

But that did not answer my question. Something has been wrong with my IAC for a while. I got the 2 screws out. Changed it with a used one. It worked fine for about 3 weeks. Then started to run like crap again. Changed it with another used one. It ran even worse. Put the other one back in for now. I want to replace the whole thing with a brand new one. So is there a easy way to get the whole thing out without taking the car apart. Stupid that the 4 screws just don't come out easy.

You are going to have to remove the TB and put vice grips around the screws to get them out.

Ok. What will I need to replace after I get the TB out? Gaskets? TB gasket, IAC gasket? What is all holding it in? Looks like 4 bolts, a connector and the throttle cable and the line going to the IAC valve. Is that it? And of course the piping from the intake.

There should be two bolts and two nuts on studs for the TB and 4 phillips screws and two T-25 torx Security screws on the IAC. You will need the TB and IAC gaskets and that is all. If your coolant lines still run to the TB you will have to remove those as well, one goes to the IAC and the return is on the bottom of the TB.
