Interior scratching

Has anyone else found that the faux-metal crap scratches really easily?

All around my shifter are scratches and the silver paint is all rubbed off where the handle of my coffee mug sits.

Is there a good way to get these out, or should I just buy some aluminum paint and touch it up?

yeah mine was scratched from the get-go. I don't know whats causing all the scratches around the shifter.

yea it does scratch easy. .but i repainted mine with some duplicolor. . i dont' know the code off the top of my head but it's been like 5 months (which is about half the time ive owned this car) and no more scratches and it was like an exact match

I actually scratched mine with a plastic vacuum nozzle. So yes it does scratch easily. I haven't retouched it but some have posts on repainting these items.

same here. i've given up. there are hairline scratches all over it. bastards. i'm thinking of sanding down the whole thing and repainting it sooner or later. but i'm too lazy and busy now.

I personally don't like the "aluminum trim" that came painted on the interior it looks more like a light gold. I have don't have any scratches on it yet but if I do get them I won't bother re-touching them up. I will just save up and get the dgmotorsports carbon fiber dash kit in the future to cover up the nasty stock one.

well anyways as for the scratching... HELL yeah it scratches! I think I'll redo it in a metallic red with clear coat some day to match the gauge cluster. im not crazy about the current color in the first place and the scratches dont make it any better. i think it was scratched from dust i wiped off it :wtf:

Eh, I'm getting tired of that avatar anyway, I'll change it on Monday.

On another "scratching" note, I just noticed I have a bunch of fine scratches on my hood near the windshield on the passenger side! I think it's from the woman setting her purse there!
