Interior Neon Pics

Well, the noeon finally came and I installed it yesterday. It looks incredible and is some of the best money I've ever spent on my car. I paid through ebay $28.99 shipped for 4 15" blue neon tubes (with sound activation ability if turned on). I also bought a power distribution block at autozone so I could turn them all on/off with one switch (which I mounted under the passenger seat for now) which cost me around $15 (one of these is not necessary at all, it just makes things easy). Anyways, here are some pics. Sorry if they are a little blurry, since my digital camera doesn't focus well in the dark since it's autofocus.

Hope you like them!

lol yea i got neons in my car too but im one step ahead i changed my map lights and dome lights to blue leds lol now its BLue inside lol

Not normally into neon, but you have made me reconsider..... Pretty useful at night too.

i just installed mine too yesterday. i'll have to take pics later. but it doesn't look as good as everyone elses...on the passenger side i couldn't put it right in the center cuz there's that box thing a little left of the middle point that won't allow me to put the tube there. how did you do it?

I actually just mounted it onto that box. I used a zip tie on the right side of the neon tube to secure it to that clear plastic tube that's under the glove compartment, and I double-sided taped the other end to the box. I also used a zip tie to secure the left side to my sub. amp. power cord. It's ok to mount it on the box, since you cant see the bulb at all when you're sitting in ny of the seats, so don't worry about it not being high enough. I found the most annoying part mounting the neon to the bottom of the front seats. I had to use zip ties and tape I think. It was a pain, but the whole install only took me about 1.5 hours, and it looks amazing, and very clean. No wires or bulbs are visible at all.

I want to be rollin down the xpressway & everybody can see I got neons inside. I was thinking of taking it one step further... having 1 on each side under the console like u guys have them, map & dome lights, 1 under each seat to light up the passengers feet, and having 2 lights in the very back where the speakers are, all going to be in blue and have it wired to the bass. The only problem is I know I won't be able to do it myself so how much would someplace charge for all of that. Thanx in advance

ah, smart move. i think i read somewhere that someone else used a ziptie, but i cant remember. anyway, maybe i'll do that. right now the driver's side is brighter cuz the way i mounted the passenger side. :I

I did the same thing to my Civic,............................in 1994.:D

It's looking great though!

i used zipties and fishing string lol well i only used fishing string to get it in place lol. well i have blue leds in my dome lights and my maps lights but i will say this if u replace map and dome lights dont exspect to find anything if u drop it lol but if u got neons under the dash you are set u can turn them on and find them. the hole inside of my car is blue but the back seat area can be a lil more blue wen i get my pics from mp5jeff ill post on of my friend sitting in the car and he is "Blue" lol if you have any questions about the neons jus im me on aim EviLTerreN

midnightracr - Mine are 15" lights, and they actually are pretty bright (the pictures makes them look dimmer than they actually are. They are extremely easy to install, and I'd be more than happy to explain the whole install to you on aim or something. It's really not worth paying to have someone intsall them since it's so easy. It just requires using some zipties and some double sided tape, and plugging in the cigarette lighter plugs (easy method), or cutting the lighters off and plugging the two remaining wires into a power distribution block (better looking, and will require about 5 mins max. of extra work per neon tube installed). All of this is very easy and self-explanatory, I didn my install without any help or any knowledge of how to do any of this. IM me on aim at "DaViper97" if you want to go through the complete install with me. Maybe later in the week I'll make a how-to for instlling these.

anyone know where i can get a new transformer for my neons, like one side if my transformer burnt out. Now only one neon works.

DaViper: Thanks, that just made me want to do it myself. Since I will be installing more than just 2 neon bulbs I'm pretty sure I will have to go the disribution block route. If u don't mind me asking where is that at?...lol I'm guessing it's gotta be behind the front console somewhere. I can do the zip ties & double sided tape part it's just the wiring part. If someone was to tell me what wire goes to what then yeah it would be a piece of cake. But yeah I would rather do it myself sounds like it could be a fun project.

EviLMaN: Do u remember the part numbers for the map & dome lights were? I'd like to get those myself since u say it looks good. Actually I was thinking of getting them a while back but thought they might not be bright enough

I forgot to ask... since everybody is going with the color blue what does everybody think purple would look like inside a blue car? I'll probably go with blue just wanted to know if it might look good or not just trying to be little different.

DaViper: LOL...Don't worry about explaining what a disrtibution block is I went back and read your 1st post. I do have this question though... if u have more than 2 bulbs do u wire them all together so it can go into 1 cig lighter.... I'm thinking of having 6 bulbs inside my car how would I go about that?

Midnightracr - The distribution block I bought originally had 2 ports, and was rated to allow for up to 4 neon bulbs (you wire two neons to each + and -). If you need 6, go to your local autoparts store like pep boys, or auto zone and see which ones they sell. Some may support more than 4 neons. If not, most of them allow for another cigarrete lighter to connect to the distribution block in addition to the neons, so you could always get a 2nd distribution block if necessary. I just order a "neon interface" on ebay for $23 shipped, which you hardwire to your battery, and it can connect up to 16 neons, and it has one switch that turns all the neons on, or turns them all onto music flash mode so they all flash at EXACTLY the same time. Here's a link to the one I won. It's made by OPTX (which is the same company as LiteGlow).

Due to the interest I've gotten so far in interior neon install I've decided I'm going to make a How To sometime this week with detailed instructions and pictures. If you have any questions, feel free to IM me on AIM at "DaViper97," or just post here, or wait a few days till the how to is done.

Good Luck Everyone!
