Interior Lighting

oh one thing i forgot to mention before, with the front map lights and those square festoon bulbs theres a small reflector held up by one philips screw that you have to remove otherwise bulb doesn't fit properly

those bulbs pictured wont really work for the license plates, the bulb/mount is perpendicular to the plate area, you'd need a side firing bulb for those to work, i ran into the same problem with my first order from superbrightleds.com

The kit comes with five LED interior bulbs and two exterior round bulbs for the license plate. We test fitted the kit on our CX-5 and the license plate bulbs we provide for the kit work perfectly.

then they must not be the bulbs displayed in pics, i purchased very similar bulbs with just emitters on the end and they barely put a dim glow on plates, had to get bulbs with 360degree output to light up plate at all

The bulbs in the pics are the ones included in the kit. I will be shooting some video tonight and will get some good shots of the license plate to give you an idea of what they look like installed and the kind of brightness you can expect from them.

Can you get a shot of the hatch area while your at it?

Will do!

Also here is a pic of the same license plate bulbs that we use on our CX-5 kit on our Mazda 2. It will help give you a sense of how bright you can expect them to look on your vehicle.

the question is, do the bulbs insert into the mounts the same way on teh 2 as they do on the 5? if the 2's mounts point down then yeah those bulbs would work, but the cx5s dont, they point straight back horizontally

I just went out and took some pictures of our license plate LED's installed on the CX-5. They plug in our the same direction as the factory bulbs and provide plenty of light.

interesting, i would never have thought they could have put that much light on the plate with the orientation of the end chips

if my wife ends up getting a cx5 also and wants me to do the leds i'll prolly buy this kit from you

We have not installed it on the CX5 yet. I will make a request to the engineers to have them identify the best way to route the wires to the battery the next time they are working on the project car and let you know!

It would probably be easiest to put the stock bulb back in and take it to the dealer.

yikes.... you could try pulling down the console, if you open the sunglass holder there's a couple screws there, take those out and the housing should pop out if you're careful
once its out maybe you can see if you can reattach the clip somehow or something, if you can't put the bulb back in like corksport said and take it back to dealer and play dumb lol

thanx...

physical fuse size doesn't matter they still have the same rating just more compact form (less wasted materials in manufacturing) good luck with the dealer, i can't imagine busting one bulb contact woudl cause all those other problems, were you getting into any other parts of the system?

all i did was replacing Led bulbs, replaced front console, both worked fine then i reached passenger side upper lights, replaced first one, checked , then when i got to the second one thats when the one of the bulb holder came loose and doesn't hold the bulb and all four interior lights stoped working...and later as i mentioned earlier,,,car wouldn't even start...nothing works now ..do you think its fuse issues?..complete dead...there goes my weekend down the drain...wish me luck...
hi stromdriver...how easy is to pulling down the center light console, what tools should i be using to remove it fix that bulb holder,,,in general i'm pretty handy man...should i fix that before contacting my dealership...please need your suggestion, coz they will find out anyway ....thanx

we're talking about the front console right? not sure how to pull the rear one

you can check the fuses, easy enough to do, just time consuming, dont forget the main ones in the engine compartment
