Interested in a dyno day? Illinois/Waukegan/Chicago area.....

I was getting a dyno the other day at the Porsche Exchange, and I really didn't have time to get the type of runs I would have liked to.

They do dynos on Saturdays, but it's a limited basis. But if we can get a few guys together that are interested in getting a dyno done, we can schedule a Saturday, maybe a month from now to get this done.

It would pretty much be the whole dyno for us. The Protege Garage(Mazda6Online) might be interested in being around as well?

The address to the Porsche Exchange is:

2300 Skokie Valley Road
Highland Park IL, 60035

Is anyone interested?

Thanks fellas,
Forrest

P.S. :I've posted on another site to get some other guys as well.

hey forrest - i was hoping to meet you friday, did you end up not coming up? hopefully we can touch base soon.

i'm all for helping host a dyno day. i am thinking of crossposting this among various forums to see if people locally with all makes and models are game for this. a month from now in terms of planning it all out would be best for me, but i'm at you guys' mercy

I got there, but I got there a bit after they closed. I pretty much had to pull in, a bit heatsoaked, ran about 5 runs all within one minute of each other. It was 98 degrees in the dyno to boot. The DSC was still turned on, but the dyno operator didn't let me know that the lights were in there going crazy.

So pretty much the worse possible conditions to take a dyno. I had them strap it down on sheer principle since I left work early and drove 3 hours. I think my car pulled all sorts of timing.

But I can tell you that the tuned map I switched to was worth a solid 45whp!!!! But looking at the AFR on the dyno, it needs adjustments.

I will be there in two weeks, and then another 2 weeks after that hopefully for dyno.

Ok.....it looks like the first Saturday of July, the 7th. I have told the service manager at the Porsche Exchange about this date, and he's checking on if he can get his dyno operators in that day. He will let me know on Monday.

Tentatively, their doors open at 9:00am. The like to close at 4:00pm. He thinks the last dyno would be around 1:30pm or so.

I would like to get a minimum of 5 cars there for the day. Max I would say no more than 12.....so 5-10 would be reasonable.

If it's alright with Ken, we can meet at the Protege Garage, convoy to the gas station for 100 octane and ice if desired, and head over to the dyno(about 15 minutes from the Protege Garage). Or you can just meet us at the dyno.

If you think you will be going, type your name in the list below. Copy the list, add your name and paste it in your post. That way we can keep track of the thread.

THE LIST:

1.) Forrest
2.)

maybe... i might do it for the hell of it before i go back stock

Back to stock already? Didn't you just spend a gyro load of time at Ken's getting mods installed?

HERE IS THE LATEST UPDATE.....11 JUNE 2007

In hopes to give guys more time to get ready, I would like to plan the dyno for the 14th of July. That's going to be on a Saturday.

What I need is to know everyone interested so that I can confirm the appointment with the Porsche Exchange within the week. If we can't get enough people to go, the dyno session will unfortunately be cancelled.

Thanks,
Forrest
