interest in fmic local san diego speed shop

loudpdl you know that fmic on a dyno do not net too much as far as increases but they maintain a consistent temp because a 20mph fan on the dyno wont represent doing 80 on the freeway. but it will be better

how about Stage 3 w/ FMIC, hardpipes, & SRI? Still not much difference except on the track? Will there be reduced risk for detonation with the lower intake temps?

it is not just on the track it is anytime you are moving because the stock ic is so small and heatsoaks after one run on the dyno. so your hp decreases. Just like the write up in turbo magazine for the ion kit it netted a consistent 13hp gain with the 20mph fan. that number can be increases exponentially depending on speed and outside air temp. I know people with rev/speed meters that have them adjusted right have seen 50hp gains on cold nights with moisture in the air. and to answer your other question the detonation isn't caused by the intake temp completly that is your spark plug running hot and predetonating before the cycle is complete. that should just be the colder plug issue.

Knocking is a different phenomenon from pre-ignition, which occurs when the air-fuel mixture in the cylinder ignites before the spark plug fires. Pre-ignition is caused by heat buildup in engine components or overheating of the air-fuel mixture during compression, and cannot be prevented by delaying spark plug firing. As such, if pre-ignition is allowed to continue for any length of time, severe engine damage can result.

changing spark plugs will not solve detonation, it will reduce it so will an fmic among other things

So the FMIC itself is not going to provide the HP, but the SRI will, and the lack of heatsoak, is going keep the engine performing consistently. Right?

no, fmic will give you more hp, cuz it will cool of the air better then the stock ic, cool air give more hp, heatsoak is just ic getting hot from the hot air going thrue it

What about a FMIC/hardpipe combo (without the SRI) for Injen owners?

Or maybe I could just sell the Injen and get the combo for $850...

I think that could be arranged jersey I will have to talk to them. but it will be up to you if you want to sell your injen either way it is a good deal.

This set up sounds sweet as hell!! I can't wait to see the finished product completed as a whole.

are they going to be able to weld an aftermarket bov(hks) on with stock bpv for extra $$? cause i would definatly like this especially if they make the set up cheaper for people who dont want sri...

Since they redesigned the I/C I didn't want to post the pics of the old design since the new one is alot better. They should have the core and hardpipes in tommorrow. Then I will post the pics during the install. I think they want to run the blitz dualdrive BOV but that is still up to you on which on you want.

I am most definately down for this FMIC setup Stage 3 of course. My only question is how much cheaper would the kit be without the SRI?? Also who was it that said they can get the pipes powder coated cheap?? I wanna powder coat my pipes BLUE BABY I think that would be so dope, oh yeah and how much would it be to powder coat? Also before any money is paid I will have to see the finished product im sure you understand. But otherwise im in
