A buddy of mine told me civic/integra shifters fit his Kia rio he suggested trying em for the P5 and it fit.
the good part is their available everywhere, even on ebay u can pick em up for 35$ shipped CAD.
Things to know;
(1) the diameter of the bolt at the bottom of the integra shifter is smaller (buy a smaller bolt) you will also need to use washers to make up for the thinner width of the bottom of the integra shifter (make sure the only washers touching the shifter itself are the ones that came with the shifter so you dont crush the bearing).
(2) the pivot ball on the integra shifter is bigger, you will need to shave down the upper portion of the top shifter bushing so that the C clip will still fit.
(3) to use the OEM shift boot, tear out the plastic ring attached to it, when installing the console invert the boot, ziptie/rubber band the leather to the shifter and roll down, you wont be able to screw in the rear of the boot this way (it doesn't bother me...).
I think I was given a 96 model year integra shifter, i used a double bend. The greatest part about this mod is that not only did i save money on the shifter, but I plan on doing some body work on my other car using the heatshield i removed. Which looks like its going to rot out and rattle in a few years anyways. Also, throw is Greatly reduced.
rant: i really like the way Honda knobs look, I wanted one, bought it and it didn't fit the P5, so i go back to the guy, he screws my P5 knob onto a honda shifter and tells me it should fit, I look inside my P5 shifter to find that the fuckers mangled the plastic threads. and also this whole thing took me 2 days (due to the bolt issue, stores were closed) it would have taken a third had I not used Vaseline as grease for the bushings (which btw gives an awesome feel) Im sure this thread would benefit from the removal of this rant, but whatever. i apologize to kartboy, B&M and anybody else this is gonna itch.
