Insurance rate for MS3 vs. EVO X GSR

there are literally thousands of factors that can be used to determine your rate. the big ones are location, driving record, vehicle being insured, credit score (insurance score technically, same thing though, also not allowed in every state), age, sex, and past claims. then you're also going to get huge variances from company to company depending on each company's appetite for the risk you represent.

and saying location should have no bearing on insurance tells me you don't really understand how insurance works.

another big factor that typically gets ignored when these conversations come up are coverages. they have a huge effect on what you pay. saying "i pay $xxx for my insurance" literally means nothing. play around online and see what happens when you go from a $500 deductible to a $1000 deductible. if what you want is a low monthly payment that's certainly going to help. the OP did a fair comparison getting the same quotes on 2 different vehicles. he would find variance if he went to different insurance companies but that at least gives you a ballpark number[/QUOTE]

Exactly, thank you!

THANK YOU!!!! These threads about insurance rates are fluent and far too many and mean absolutely nothing as it differs in so many ways with all the factors you mentioned being taken into account. They should outlaw threads like this. This is probably the 5th or 6th one Ive seen in the past few months in this section alone.

I work for a car insurance company so I see the factors that affect rates all the time. Too many things are taken into account for anyone to give a straight up figure in a thread like this.

You along with about 3-5 others have missed the point. Try going back to the very beginning and read the first post. I simply compared with all things being equal the difference in INS rates between an EVO & MS3. Yes, not everyone will have the same exact outcome but it does give a general understanding of what it might cost to insure an EVO coming from an MS3 all things being equal (Same INS company, coverage, etc..) I guess this was a bit too hard for some of us to comprehend. Next time I'll type it out in the Barnie style so no one gets confused and goes off on a tangent talking about things that don't apply to what the topic was about. Again, this this thread is not about comparing INS rates!

Haha be glad you're not here...anyone under 25 pays out the ass. I pay $350 a month for my MS6, funny thing is if i trade it in for a SRT8 Jeep it'll go down $100. Yes I realize I'm retarded for paying that much.

PS: Dont be mad because I may trade my MS6 for a jeep lol, having a kid changed my opinion on cars. But I still want something quick for when the kid/wife are at home.

I would like to take this opportunity to tell some of the people that feel that they are paying too much about my story.
I was originally paying 155 a month with GEICO. I moved 3 weeks ago and GEICO up'd my rate to 199 a month!!! I shopped around and came across a company on the radio that only insures california, oregon, and canada named Wawanesa. I got my rate down to 63 a month with them. The best part was that all the coverage amounts are the same, and I actually got a lower deductible.

714 makes a good point here. SHOP AROUND!!! I almost pissed my pants reading what some of you people pay a month for insurance. are you all nuts? I pay less than some of you for my 07 ms3, wifey's 07 civic and my 2006 gixxer 1k with 2 drivers.

Yeah I've heard ot wawanesa here, actually the company I work for deals with them. I'll have to shop around a bit, but gotta make up my mind on keeping the car or selling it first lol

I traded a small SUV (06 Suzuki Grand Vitara) for the Speed6 for my wife and baby. ;)
We have plenty of room, and we're always stylin'!

$250 for my 2003 ES. Clean driving record. I can understand your pain...

Off topic...I didnt realize this until I looked into it after reading this thread but an Evo X is $47000 here...does that seem a bit high to anyone else?

Yeah I do live in canada which does affect the price..but cmon I can get a new STI for 40k...mitsu is really screwing ppl cause that 47k is just for the base MR w/o a markup its about 53k for a fully loaded MR.

Anywho back on topic...I'm pretty sure accident history of a certain car model effects how much the insurance is too, because when I bought my MS6 I also checked out an STI and the STI insurance was $100 more per month. I'm pretty sure STI's have a bad reputation for street racing causing accidents...at least here anyways.
