Installing Autometer NV Boost Gauge

The question that I have is regarding how to make the gauge dim with the rest of the dash. I have searched and the most I could find was hooking up the green/black and blue/black wire. Well, this weekend I tore apart the dash to connect to these wires and there are no such colors to the dimmer switch. There are four wires, (orange/white), (Purple/white), (Black/white), and (Black/red). Currently, I have hooked the 12v+ to the orange/white and the negative to the black/red. My gauge comes on with the lights but does not dim. I'm hoping someone would have done this on a 2008.5 MS3.

do you have a test light if so hook one end to a good ground and use the other end on a wire and try to dim the lights and watch the test light and see if it gets dull and bright thats all i can think of sorry i dont have one i own an 04 mazda 3 gt

I went usual way (at least for me) - get AddACircuit for mini fuses and plug it to the fuse box.
