Installed smoked reflectors/sidemarkers and graphite RX-8s

Had a nice and relaxing time this weekend putting on smoked reflectors, sidemarkers, silver bulbs in the tails and headlights, and my painted RX-8s:

Thanks - however, I didn't paint them myself. Had some friends who own a mobile wheel repair place do them. They used a matte clearcoat process which cuts down on the shiny look.

were there already bulds where those reflectors are or you put some in there

Wow, looks awesome! Do the front and rears blink clear now when the signals are on? I know that's a stupid question, but I don't know anything about clearing out headlights or taillights. Also why not ditch the orange reflector in the headlights?

The OEM reflectors are just red. The smoked reflectors will reflect white at night if I didn't wire the LEDs to the tail lights. Hope that answers your question.

No, they blink amber still - it's a valid question. Reason I haven't ditched the orange in the headlights is because you have to bake them and open it up. I've done a few times and didn't feel like doing it again. Maybe one day :)

Those wheels look excellent. After seen RX8 on these cars along with everything else on the aftermarket, I like the RX8 best. Did they use essentially two part automotive paint, base coat clear coat? OH yeah - gotta block out your plate numbers !

I believe they sanded first, primered it, then used two coats of paint and then the matte clear coat process.

I got too lazy and didn't blur out the license plate numbers. I see some people blur it out and some don't. Is it just a safety thing - to not let give people additional information about yoruself? I figure any random person can take my license plate number when my car is parked outside, too. But maybe more people see it online?

that looks good. nice subtle upgrades.

Thanks. Trying to keep it clean and simple.

Your car = finished

I would like to lower it, but being in a lowered Subaru for the past six years still has me hesitant in dropping it. I'm gonna get some tint put on in the near future and I think that'll finish her off on the exterior. Maybe some black lugs and paint the center caps. Thought you would've berated me since I had to make the tough call on repainting the Shinkas. Just couldn't live with those stains any longer.

nope, if there are no lights behind the smoked reflectors why are they lit up red?

Car looks great! They did a great job on those wheels.

My opinion, with the changes you have made to remove reds and ambers from the vehicle, I think the fogs would look better clear or smoked, then yellow.

My bad for the bad explanation. The smoked reflectors have LEDs behind them. I tapped them into the tail lights. You could also wire them up either to the blinkers or brake lights.

Personal preference I believe, but mostly if you have mods in your sig and want to keep your warranty. Just in case big brother Mazda is watching.

sweet, thanks

Tail light auction.

Front turn signal bulbs.

Should come out to $20.50 shipped for both. Don't know the quality of both sets, but they both worked for me. We'll see how long they last. I went with cheapest on eBay. And there's 8% Live Cashback so it can be cheaper.
