installed my Kartboy bushings today!

Well I finally got some time to spend with my baby.....the car that is... :{D

I took a few hours and changed her oil...rotated the tires, washed/waxed her.....and installed the kartboy bushings which have been sitting on my dresser for over a week....

I have but one thing to say.....GO BUY THEM!....if you have installed a shifter but not got these bushings....you are missing out. I was very surprised at the difference. Its quite noticable...the shifts feel much more precise.

OOPS....I said more than one thing...hmmm oh well!

yea I love mine I don't feel right only paying 20 dollars for a part the makes such a huge improvment THANKS TOM!!!!!! your tha man!!!

the bushings will work with any shifter, as they are located on the transmission not the shifter.

We installed the Kartboy shifter and bushings on a customers WRX and all I have to say is OHHH MY GAWWD!!
Simply amazing.....good work guys. The cars shifter know feels better than a miata wich in my opinion is the best feeling gearbox out there.

that is what I have...a B&M....and yes it does make a difference.

i would recommend them to anyone with a short shifter....I can imagine it would even make the STOCK shifter feel a lot better.

ONE thing I would like to add.....

for those of you getting the bushings...and not really familure with doing stuff like this.....you will need to remove the stud that the arm/bushings is mounted to to do the replacement...as the arm can not be removed from the stud because it hits the exhaust system before it will come off....so all you need is a second nut....

remove the nut off of the stud....turn it over and put it back on...its a FLANGED style nut...install another nut and lock them together, also known as DOUBLE NUTTING....then remove the stud form the housing.....THIS makes things a lot easier...and BTW...do NOT forget to remove the steel bushing from inside the rubber one and reinstall it with your new Kartboy bushings....and then TORQUE the nut back on to about 35 ft-lbs.....a dab of 242 locktight won't hurt if you have some either.....

Actually, I did it without removing the stud....It is a piece of heatshield that prevents you from totally removing the arm..All you have to do is loosen the 2 clamps on the ends of the little piece of heatshield, slide it down, and you will have enough room....
