Installed Headlight LED DRLs

lol just noticed that the pictures at ijdmtoy website used my pictures LOL cool

yeah but they have them attached to the wrong bulbs.... they have them associated with the crummier super high count tinyled one, not the camaro foglight ones we bought

i dont have this one they have listed as the cx5 one, i have the one listed as the camaro fog light p13w which has fewer but larger/brighter leds in it, and the pics they show in the page for the cx5, it has those same ones in it as i do, so dont trust the jdm page, look for the camaro fog light p13w bulbs, they're better

Hey Storm,

Are these the ones you're talking about? http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Chevy-Camaro-RS-SS-Fog-DRL-LED-Bulbs-p/p13w-led-fog-light-4j.htm

Are they as quick and easy to snap in as the ones listed for the cx-5? I have GT w tech. Thanks for your advice. Appreciated.

I just installed these 18 LED SMD bulbs as DRL, they look great! I was afraid they wouldn't be as bright, but they're nice and bright and white!

I think these are the same or similar to the ones I bought on eBay.
Do they remain on at very dim level after you turn off the car or open & close the door?

yeah they're still working fine, yeah fairly happy, wish they were a lil brighter but thats to be expected with leds, but they're still very visible

Been meaning to follow up on this about brightness. I understand the lights will be whiter than stock, but are they as bright as stock? Brighter? Less bright?

Keep in mind that these are DRLs, not head lights! Brightness should not be a factor. The only reason that people are replacing the OEM DRL bulb is to get a "whiter" light because they prefer the look compared to the yellowish OEM bulb.

Also remember these are inside the high beam area of the headlight, there's no cutoff, so if you put real bright DRLs in there, it will blind/annoy other drivers!

I definitely do not want headlight brightness, but I wouldn't want the LEDs to be significantly dimmer than stock. I mean, DRLs are essentially safety equipment, so I wouldn't want to reduce their effectiveness.

/off topic

Does anyone know what temp the oem HID are? 5000K? 6000K?, def not 43/4500K.

I think this photo should confirm the brightness issue (LED on left, OEM on right)

BTW, I ordered 4 from China for the CX-5's in the family.

Cool, ordered two of these from the ebay link you put up earlier. For such a cheap price you can't go wrong. :D

Edit: BTW, I hope I didn't miss it in a previous post but is changing the bulb pretty easy? Can it be found in the manual?
