I don't know what they are called and it looks like Mazda part number might suggest that it is called a channel. I am not even sure if that is the right word.

However I do need to change both of mine since they are rusted and it looks disgusting. lol.

Does anyone know how I would go about doing this?

Thanks.

dang... I almost should have, sorry. I haven't begun painting yet and that might be something I'll be looking into to remove for the job. wish I could help :(

i think u gotta take the rubber window trim out and it slides out. ask someone at a tint shop

I think it just pulls up after the window is down or something... maybe is just snapped in with clips?

You sure there is no screw holiding it. Because I believe my friend's cavalier had a screw and he found out the hard way.
You also cannot lower the window all the way down.

I'm interetsted how this works out as well, did you get the new ones from the dealer?
Mine are starting to show some rust...

yeah you can get them at the dealer only I believe. I did not get them yet because I am waiting to see if I can do this myself first.

Why would I do that??????
In order to give them 100$ for nothing.
You don't really sound like you are the type of person who should be doing this type of work. That is why I suggested it...

You will likely break something that is $100.00 on your car and then end up taking it to the shop and having to replace the part, plus the broken part, plus pay them to fix it...

I have done many things on my car, including my engine mounts, my intake, my pulley, my new bumpers, my stereo system, part of my suspension, my brakes, oil changes, full detailing, etc.

I just like to research everything for that purpose. TO NOT BREAK ANYTHING. And if I understand correctly, this forum is meant to teach you how to fix things. I did research and found that this little problem I have has never been dealt with. IT WILL BE IN THE FUTURE as the car gets older, and if it is up north where there are cold winters. You will probably experience this in Ottawa as well.

So in conclusion, I just want to know if there are any hidden bolts or screws I should know of instead of just jumping in.

P.S. I know the Sens lost and I am a big fan as well and it hurts, but you don't need to take out your anger on fellow board members. :)

Same here, this little piece seems like the easiest thing to rust on this car, I'm interested to know how to remove it too...

I guess no one has done this before though. LOL. Up here in Quebec, all cars have those rusted.

The part is only 17$ bucks at the dealer, and its very easy to do, but if you want I can do it for you for free, takes abouts 20 minutes and its done, just send me a msg, i'm on the south shore of Montreal at The Greenfield Park Futureshop on taschereau Blvd.
