Install/Mod Meet - Sat. 10/24

good times! thanks for all the help, especially bruce!

good news: the P5 seems to be burning oil way slower, like only 10% of a quart in the last 1000 miles (since oil change). the only major thing I changed was fix the EGR valve. So I don't know how the EGR valve could cause the oil to get consumed, but whatever... it's all good now.

Shifting seems better already! I did get a quick squeal on the belts when i was leaving Mark's, but we'll see how the belts react tomorrow.

Mark, post some pictures :)

The only picture I got was this one:

Great times as always but had to be the smallest fall meet evah!.

Thanks Mark and Chris for the strut help. Glad I could help my old car Oleg. New struts and shocks are a big improvement. Very tired now.

Fun times guys.

So tomorrow Amanda and I are gonna check out a few cars. She's gonna look at the Jeep Patriot, Dodge Nitro R/T, Honda Element, Mazda CX-7 and Tribute. We also might go check out the FJ Cruiser if there is time, but she's not crazy about the price or style. Only the Patriot is available in stick. The Nitro is/was offered in stick but there are virtually none to be found. All can be had for 18-22K with about 20-30K on the ticker. I actually kind of like the look of Nitro except from the back it kind of resembles an 80's minivan. But the R/T has 260Hp and goes 0-6 in 7.7 seconds. Not bad for a truck...and faster than the CX-7.

sounds like a fun day at the stealerships!! let's us know how you make out.

so it works...but you suffer power right? The Nitro R/T gets roughly equivalent mileage but on regular gas.

I like this one...

The FJ Cruiser is nice. It is pretty comfortable on the inside and is a beast in the snow. Mileage is OK though and has pretty nice pick up. What I liked about the car (dad's was leased and just turned it in) was that the interior can basically be hosed down at any time to be cleaned. Now as much as an element but it is easy to clean with plenty of space. The only downside is that it has a nasty blind spot where the doors open because of the funky pillar but besides that it is an awesome car!

oi.. if she doesn't like the problems that the jeep has, she's not going to like the nitro.
