Injen Owners *Caution*

My Injen was all full of crap when I got it as well. I noticed it when I took it out of the box, it almost looked like clumpy brake dust. It was probably in there when you got it and you just didn't notice. The stuff was stuck on pretty good in mine and I had to pull a towell through the intake about a dozen times to get it all out, so your gunk is probably just still stuck on from when you installed it. It looks to me like the polishing compound from when they shined up the outside of the intake, and they probably just forgot to clean a few of them out.

Just for the record, I wasn't saying the Injen would cause surge, but that the surge could cause carbon to back up into the Injen. (evil) My Injen was not polished and was clean as a whistle in the box.

How's the muffler I sold you?

i had to bring my car to the dealership because of various things i had to get fixed. but the main thing was that i would hear a high pitched sound that was definitely not there before and would come on at 3500+rpms's at half to wot. i didnt know what it was at first but my friends noticed a loss in power. also i noticed either fuel cut or stumbling not only at night but during the day. so i brought it into mazda and they told me that it was caused by my injen. what do you guys think about this? personally i think it's BS. who knows.

Well if there is a leak in the system potentially, check all the joints to make sure they are secure. Otherwise I say that is BS and they are just blowing you off.

Its great but i cant put it on. tried today and those nuts are soo rusted. to make it worst i think i rounded them :(. I got pics. need help.

sorry for the threadjack.

Also when i got it...i was like "thoguht i ordered a muffler. not a bookself? lol nice wrapping." :D

I told you would dig the wrapping job. (laugh) Just use a wire brush to clean the studs on the muffler off. Go to the dealer and buy a new gasket and nuts. That is the easiest way. If you are having a problem getting the old ones off, use a dremel to cut the studs/nuts off your old muffler. The studs are on the muffler, so it won't hurt mounting the new one. (thought)

The turbo makes a high pitched whine, its been discussed countless times. Im surprised you can hear it over the injen, but it might amplify it i suppose.
However, you might just be hearing the turbo spool up louder... since its like a whistling or sucking noise.
Fuel cut is NOT the same as stumble, fuel cut feels like you just hit a wall, and stumble just feels as if the power delivery isnt smooth, or you feel a slight jerk in power.
Most dealers arent cool about mods, so to them, if you complain about something and you have a mod, they'll just blame the mod, regardless if its mechanically linked.
