insidious's sounds really really nice. i always pass that video around to friends..i just dont want to buy the billet because of heat soak issues. Also, spool's is just like billets but with the cold air extension. in theory, it should make the good psh like insidious's gets.

The wastegate is in the turbo, I don't know if you can replace it with an external, I think you probably can.

I got my black Injen last week for $200 even. Took about twenty five minutes to install it. You dont have to take off the upper intercooler pipe like they show in the How To Install Thread.

I had a short ram on it as well, and it still made the noise, the Injen feels better than the short ram to me.

I've got a CAI on my MSP as well, and it doesn't sound like that either. It sounds close, but doesn't have that very high-pitched part.
The only thing that could cause that would be the fact that the INJEN runs from the fender straight to the turbo(and the extension they have for the BPV). Spool's intake, as well as mine, as well as I bet most of our "custom" intakes still retain the plastic piping after the MAF sensor.

yeah great vid and that turkey sound comes from the wastegate not the BPV cause Dexter thru on an HKS BOV on his MSP and it still made that sound along with the HKS sound.

Yeah, the more direct path of the injen amplifies the sound. 3 More bends+factory airbox=less sound from the wastegate. I still wonder why aftermarket companies are "utilizing" the factory piping after the airbox.(scratch)

Turn your contrast up on your monitor. You may also be able to adjust your contrast through display settings depending on your video card/operating system/drivers/etc.
