The time has come for new injectors and I need to be advised as to what will fit. I have heard that proteges can use wrx injectors, and wrx's can use sti injectors. the protege and 3 injectors look the exact same, so do you think I could use the sti 565cc injectors in my 3?

I doubt that you can play the this works with this works with this and looks like this game. Do you know how many pounds the sti injectors are?

I know, thats why I am asking. I think they are 565cc arent they?

Another question, if anyone knows where I can get some injectors that are proven to work on the 3, let me know! I havent found any yet.....

This would really be interesting to know. Is it possible to gain more horsepower just by dumping for fuel into the engine? Meaning, without any forced induction and what not?

not without more air ;)

the mazda3 has a returnless fuel system which makes selecting new injectors and EMS not so cut and dry. check with juan at hiboost first.

thanks ken, I didnt even take the returnless fuel into consideration! (new to the fuel upgrade game)

juan has got to be running new injectors on more then one 3 so i would think he knows what does/doesn't work... though its gotta be strange to ask the compitition what to do lol

even his basic mazda3 kit comes with biger injectors as the stock ones are maxed at 2psi!

haha, that was my main thought. i know the injector he uses, I am just trying to find what else might work to weigh my options. I still sent him a pm and hope to hear back.

yeah, I remember hearing that. what are the stock ones, like 280cc or something?

Also, the 42 lb/hr injectors he runs, are those good for even higher boost? say 20+ psi?

i do not think they are even 280 but i could be wrong. i thought the stock fuel pressure was also lower than your average protege.

42lb injectors are pretty good for higher levels of boost in general - you have to take into account fuel pressure, engine management, spark timing, etc
