info on fs-ze swap please

It's less of a wiring headache of you just use the mp3 ecu or even p5 ecu but you'll want a cam gear. Honestly if it doesn't have the intake mani I would just buy it and swap the pistons and cams over to your fsde

it comes with mani . tb and all
and i was told on the other forum to do get the israeli spec 1.8l wiring harness and it will be all just plug and play on the wiring

It should be anyway considering its the same motor. The only wiring that should be different is for the intake mani and it will probly be just the plug

ok, thought I'd add my 2c of info on here...

2 months ago a mate of mine & myself swapped my tired FS-DE for a 61k FS-ZE motor, and thats it, no changing looms or ecu, simply just plug & play. currently running an AutoExe SRI & AutoExe header to 2.25" exhaust, I yeilded a very respectable 124.6hp atw, 20hp up from stock!

And comparison over the 3 previous years:

To my knowledge the only differences between the DE and ZE are the cams, pistons, rods and intake. So why would it be a problem to swap the motor using the existing wiring and run the MP3 ecu until you go forged? You may not generate as much HP using the MP3 compared to the ZE ecu but it'll get you a properly running car and for the price that you are getting all of it it's not that big of a deal. And from following your build thread i know you'll be going turbo soon so this way you'll save for the turbo build and most important standalone. So the wiring won't matter soon enough.

i have decided to stay N/A easier plus never done a n/a build. have had a few turbo cars and currently still have a turbo vehicle. thinking ill just do a fully built head with cams/ cam gears, valves etc and custom header/midpipe and just build a fs/de block with 10-1 compression etc.

i might. just depends when the time comes . but thats a good point right there

will be fully custom header/midpipe from the shop of the GB thread i have up for interest

124 whp seems pretty low it should be closer to 140-150

And your supporting mods are? Dyno used?

There is another FS-ZE 323 in aus that was present at the dyno day held on the weekend, where he's using the ZE ecu & loom and got 1.5hp more than me, so im a little dubious at your "proven" results...

If you want 10.4:1 compression just use euro spec pistons.

Incorrect. Rods are the same. Cams are the same as a Jspec FS-DE. MSF is a different kettle of fish though.

Well to start the mp3 has 140 chp and around 115 whp. The fsze makes 170 same as msp and they make around 150 whp stock. More than likely you have the jspec fsde and not a real fsze

170hp = 125kw at the flywheel, and considering you lose up to 20% through the drivetrain, that leaves you with around 136hp at the treads..
