Think of it this way. The bigger the slits, the less you have to force the overlay over the needle.

Just take your cluster out, and move it to your room, then you can at least get the faces on before you wire everything tomorrow.

yeah, there's a rubber stopper at the bottom of the bar that the needle rests on. Does that come off somehow or am I resting the face on that?

There should be a hole in your overlay for that to fit You slide the gauge under the needle, then poition it so the stop is through the hole, and slide the rest of the gauge over the needle.

sorry, umm i don't know man. I was close to drilling a hole underneath the foglight switch and that stuff, and mounting the whole plate there, but i want to save that spot for a boost controller, and other things in the future. I don't have any idea where to put it now...
You could run even more wire, and drill a hole in you \r center conole box thing, and wire them into there

ok, i made the slit a little past the second screw, like you said. But the cut it still tight...and the back of the needle (black casing) is pretty large. Should I slice out an actual piece to make the cut bigger?

NO no no no, if you cut out an actual piece, you'll have that piece missing after you get everything done.

I wish i had taken photos as i did mine...
Take off the overlay and slit it some more, enough so that you have | | after the end of the needle (the big black part) then you can sort of bend the gauge face so part of it goes under the needle, and then it should slide on

K, i just tried it and had to stop and take it off. The length of the slit is fine, but I have to press that part over the black casing to get it on, putting pressure on it. I don't want to put any pressure on anything. Will the black casing handle pressure while I press the slit over it?

I was thinking here. I have a switch there already so I wont be putting it there. You would have to take the metal plate off, obviously.

The tach, and mph needles can take SOME pressure, but i can't specify how much, its sorta a feel thing, if you feel like you're going to break it i'd stop. Mine handled enough pressure so that i could get them on without breaking them though... BE CAREFUL please!!
And i have MSN, but i'm only going to be on another 15 minutes max, so...
