Increasing MPG

Hi All,
This is my first post so : )
I got a new job that requires a lot of daily driving and wondering what you all have tried to increase fuel efficiency. So far driving 60 seems to be the biggest saver of fuel, but also looking into modding my otherwise stock N/A P5. What would you recommend? Willing to try anything as long as it isn't too expensive. Headers seem an easy way to keep the exhaust exiting and hot. Also been looking at that Fitch fuel refining filter - suppose to be good for 5-12% greater effeciency.
Thanks!

anything you can do to improve the pumping efficiency of the engine will increase the fuel economy - intake, header, exhaust, regular oil changes, clean air filter, good spark plugs, slightly higher tire pressure, etc.

stay away fromt hing like the turbonator, "Fitch fuel refining filter" (whatever that is), ebay "super" chip, etc. all those things do is make your wallet lighter.

Thanks Nik,
Anyone else with other ideas or has Nik said it all?

I think nik pretty much covered ya...with a more efficient engine you can save plenty of gas...the problem with doing all those upgrades is that youll have so much more hp you'll lose MPG because of your right foot!

weight reduction. I sold my subs, and because I have AAA gold, I took out the spare tire and jack. less weight = less power needed to get the vehical up to speed. it also helps with aggressive cornering.

tire pressure,, jack it up... then new K&N air filter-drop in then mabey the miata coilpacks and plug wires.. under $100 total and should up it another mpg or 2..
